Schools will remain closed Wednesday Oct. 2nd. The district will announce plans for Thursday by Wednesday Oct. 2nd at 3pm
Schools Closed Monday & Tuesday
Hello Bloomingdale Bear Families!
Due to the continued impacts from Hurricane Helene, all Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools will be closed Monday Sept. 30th and Tuesday Oct. 1st. These days are considered non-instructional days for students meaning students are not expected to complete e-learning assignments.
We know many are still without power! Don’t forget to message a counselor on ClassDojo or complete our Contact Us Form on our website for non-emergency assistance! We’ll try to connect you with resources when we return! www.bes.sccpss.com
We also wanted to provide some optional activities you can do with your students to keep them engaged and those little minds growing while we are out! Any of these activities can be adapted for any age group by scaling the complexity up or down.
- Read books together.
- Write, Write, Write
- Write a letter about your experience during the storm.
- Write a new ending to a movie or story.
- Research something that interests you and write a letter telling someone what you learned.
- Draw the sequence of events that happen in a story
- Play Cards
- You can do several math activities using a simple deck of playing cards: number identification, counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Adapt a game you know or make up a new one!
- Have students research something, draw a presentation, and have them teach it to the family!
If you do have power and internet access, don’t forget that iReady (K-5), AMIRA (K-3), Waggle (K-5), and XtraMath (K-5) are all available to students. Most USB-C chargers will charge a school-issued Chromebook.
Remember that assignments are required from the e-learning day on Friday September 27, 2024.
Again, Bloomingdale Elementary School will be closed Monday 9/30 and Tuesday 10/1. Students are not expected to complete virtual activities during these days. Information regarding school operations for the remainder of the week after Tuesday will be released from the District by 6pm on Tuesday.
Stay Safe Bears! We hope to see you soon!
