LEADERSHIP TEAM SEMINAR MONDAY @7AM
LT 2024-25
Just a reminder that you have a leadership seminar to plan for the 2024-25 year Monday from 7AM-8:30AM. This is the one time you can bring food in the band hall. Bring breakfast items to share!
END OF YEAR MARCHING CAMP & COOK-OUT/PARENT MEETING MAY 23
Every year on the LAST DAY of school we have our MANDATORY End Of Year Marching Camp. Details are below.
- 2:30pm Incoming freshmen arrive at the band hall to receive marching instruments. Concert instruments could be ready as well.
- 3:00pm Full Band begins with music in the band hall or Montgomery Center (MC)
- 5:15pm Outside for a short Marching rehearsal in WISD Stadium
- 7:30pm Parent meeting & Hot Dog TWB Family Picnic in the Montgomery Center (MC)
Don't ask me if you can miss a mandatory event. It will make my head hurt and possibly explode. We have one of the top music programs in the state and nation. We didn't get that way by missing rehearsals or mandatory fun time.
EDMOND HAMILTON CELEBRATION OF LIFE: FRIDAY 5/24
Please join us for a Celebration of Life in memory of Edmond Hamilton on Friday at 6:00pm in the auditorium. If you would like to join in the mass band playing the school song, please meet in the band hall at 5pm for a short rehearsal and information.
EDMOND HAMILTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Edmond Hamilton, a 2022 graduate of Wylie High School, encapsuled what it means to be a member and leader in THAT WYLIE BAND. He was Section Leader of the drumline, member of the Wind Symphony, played in the school musical, involved with the jazz band and was genuinely one of the most inclusive and fun people to be around. If you needed help, he was there running to help you.
The Hamilton family moved after Edmond graduated high school in 2022. Music was a big part of his life and the life of his younger brother Elliot. Knowing that Elliot’s experience was going to be different in Minnesota than in TWB and seeing the lack of help in the high school music program, Edmond helped start a drumline camp to help his new community and his younger brother. This was just the type of person Edmond was.
Edmond was involved in an automobile accident this year in which he did not recover. With the approval of his parents, The Wylie Band Booster Club established the “Edmond Hamilton Memorial Scholarship” in his memory. Some of you in this room were friends with Edmond and knew him for one or two years. I want to encourage you all to attend the celebration of life for Edmond and show our TWB support to his family next Friday, May 24th at 6pm right here in the auditorium. I am going to ask for those who are in town and all alumni who knew Edmond to play the school song at the end of the ceremony. This is one small thing we can do to honor Edmond and comfort his family. I cannot imagine the pain they have been through this year. This is the very least we can do to honor the legacy of one of our very best examples of Camaraderie, Service, Dedication and Excellence.
I cannot think of a better person to receive the first Edmond Hamilton Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 than Jackson Slaughter.
Please consider donating to the Edmond Hamilton Memorial Scholarship Fund. We are looking to build the funds within this scholarship to be endowed through the Wylie Education Foundation. Once the fund reaches $10,000 we will be able to do so. We are currently at $3,000.
This scholarship honors the memory of Edmond and the legacy he left with TWB. Click the photo do donate.
***FORM CLOSES MONDAY 5/20 AT 4:20 PM***

In most cases, you will pick up your instrument from the repair shop. Someone from the shop will contact you when your instrument is ready for pickup; otherwise, a Wylie HS director will contact you. Check your email often.
We will do our best to have your instrument ready before your first lesson. If you do not hear from us within 2 days of your first scheduled lesson, contact your teacher to let them know you will need to reschedule.
