April 6th
Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful and restful Spring Break, filled with special moments and time to recharge. As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we’re excited to continue working together to support our students in their learning and growth.
Prospect Science Night
A huge thank you to Mr. Wang for once again leading the charge for another unforgettable Prospect Science Night! His students were incredible—they proudly showcased the cars they built and explained the science behind their creations.
Our amazing fifth grade leaders and their families did a fantastic job running hands-on activity stations that kept students engaged all evening long. From creative experiments to interactive challenges, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And of course, the classroom airplanes zooming through the air were a crowd favorite!
We’re so grateful to Mr. Wang and everyone who helped make this event such a success. It was a wonderful celebration of curiosity, creativity, and the joy of learning. Thank you for making science come alive at Prospect!
A huge THANK YOU to PTO for organizing and funding the Jessie White Tumblers assembly before Spring Break! It was such a fun and exciting event, and our students absolutely loved every moment. What a fantastic way to head into the break on a high note!

Pre-Planned Absences
The school calendar has been established a year in advance and is available on the District website: www.d181.org. While we realize the value of family time, we strongly discourage the planning of vacations during regular student attendance days.
Elementary School Information Related to Planned Absences:
In the event of a planned absence, a parent must communicate directly with the school at least two days prior indicating their intentions. A parent/guardian may email, complete this form, or call the Office with the following information:
Name of student
reason for the absence, and
date(s) the student will be absent
If a planned absence consists of three (3) or more days, assignments and completion dates will be given after the absence as determined by the teacher. Teachers will not be required to re-teach material missed by students.
