Dear Parents and Families,

We will be entering the spring season this month which represents the time where we welcome changes and new beginnings. Flowers begin to bloom, the days get longer, and and there will many celebrations forthcoming.

This month students will receive their second trimester report cards. We will have parent conferences the week of March 18th - 22nd. The parent conferences are only for those required by the teacher due to academic concerns. However, you are welcome to schedule a parent conference with the teacher to speak about your child's academic progress during this time as well.

We have an exciting attendance incentive for all students brought to you by our very own students. We had a contest last month for the student who came up with the best incentive idea. The winner of the best incentive idea would win a computer and a printer. The winning student idea wrote, "If your child comes to school and is on time every day in the month of March, they will be invited to a pizza party." Winter Gardens is now incorporated this incentive school-wide. In April, we will announce who's idea this attendance incentive was and we will also celebrate the students with perfect attendance.

Finally, we need your help! Montebello Unified School District is currently seeking feedback that will help us revise our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP is a tool for our district to set goals, plan actions, and leverage resources to meet those goals to improve student outcomes. Please help us by completing a five minute survey in the link below. The survey is available in both English and Spanish, is shorter than in prior years, and all responses will be kept confidential.

As I mentioned in the beginning, spring is a great time for new beginnings, set new goals, and have time for some self-healing. I want to thank you for your incredible support. Let's have an amazing month of March!
