A Message from the Principal
Dear Souhegan High School Community,
As we come to the close of the 2023-2024 school year, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride reflecting on all that we have accomplished together.
From the very beginning of the year, I have been inspired by the warmth and spirit of collaboration that defines Souhegan High School. Our community's dedication to academic excellence, personal growth, and collaboration has been truly remarkable to witness. Whether in the classrooms, on the playing fields, or through our various clubs and activities, our students have consistently demonstrated a commitment to learning and achievement that is both admirable and inspiring.
I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our outstanding faculty and staff who work tirelessly every day to support our students' educational endeavors and personal development. Your passion and dedication are the foundation upon which our school's success rests, and I am honored to work alongside such a talented team.
To our students, thank you for your enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience. You continually remind us of the limitless potential that exists within each of you, and I am excited to see the next steps that await each of you.
To our parents and caregivers, thank you for your unwavering support and partnership in your children's education. Your involvement and advocacy are invaluable to the thriving community we have built together.
As we look ahead to the summer break and the opportunities that await us in the coming school year, I am optimistic about the continued growth and achievements of our Souhegan community. Together, we will build on the successes of this past year and strive to make even greater strides in fostering a nurturing and empowering learning environment for all.
Wishing you all a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer. I look forward to reconnecting with you in the fall for another exciting chapter.
Best,
Dana
Community-Wide Announcements & Reminders
Summer School
As teachers work to finalize year-end grades today, final notifications about summer school will be communicated to students and families. We have a devoted and talented summer school staff who are committed to helping students gain credit and have a positive learning experience.
Students must have an overall course score of 1.3 or higher to qualify for summer school and the cost is $100 per course. This year, summer school runs from Monday, 6/24- Thursday, 8/1, with no classes running on July 4th. The hours will be 8:00am-12:00pm with credit recovery options in math, English, science, and social studies. In addition to notification from teachers and counselors, students and families will receive a Welcome Letter with a summer school registration link from Ryan Lemieux, our Summer School Coordinator. This letter will contain more details about attendance and general expectations. Any questions about summer school can be directed to Ryan at rlemieux@sau39.org.
AP
On Monday, we held an AP Info Session in the Learning Commons from 12:45-1:15. During this Info Session, students enrolled in AP classes for the 2024-2025 school year met their new teachers, received summer homework, and enrolled in Google Classrooms. The following information was also shared with all students enrolled in APO courses after the Info Session:
If you missed it - AP (including Adv. Biology) summer work information can be accessed on the Souhegan website by clicking Academic Programs > AP Summer Work 2024. The information includes the instructors; if summer work is required; materials needed and Google Classroom code. Here is a direct link.
The Course Materials column indicates if a text is available form the Info Center or if it needs to be purchased by the student. If a course requires materials that need to be picked up at the Info Center, we strongly encourage students to pick up before noon on Thursday, June 20th from the Info Center. If students are unable to pick up by this time, materials can be picked up through Michelle Paul in Student Services on Tuesdays from 9-12 through July.
If student's have specific questions about their AP course(s), they are encouraged to reach out to their instructor directly - faculty email addresses are first initial followed by last name @sau39.org.
