ONGOING REMINDER: Guzick Instructional Expectations for Excellence - Aggressive Monitoring and Small Group Instruction
IMPORTANT: 4SW Progress Reports
REMINDER: Grading Expectations - 2nd - 5th Grade
Please ensure that you are following the minimum grading expectations below so that student academic performance on 3-week progress reports and 6-week report cards is an indication of the level of mastery on grade level content.
-Update grades weekly (at least 2 grades recommended)
-Include grades from all assignment categories (classwork, homework, tests/projects)
-Include grades that are directly linked to mastery of the state standards
Furthermore, DISD Board Policy EIA Local (excerpt below and link to policy) indicates that students who receive a grade below 70 on the progress report should be encouraged to attend tutoring to complete special projects or extra credit assignments prior to the end of the six-week grading period. Please ensure that you are documenting you communication efforts with students and parents of students who receive a failing grade at the 3-week progress report time.
