Celebrating Our Students, Staff, and Spring Success!
Dear Leasure Families,
Leasure Shines at the District Art Show
We are thrilled to share that Leasure Elementary had an entire wall proudly showcasing student artwork at the District Art Show! From colorful creations to detailed designs, our students’ artistic talents lit up the space and captured the admiration of all who attended.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Bovee, our dedicated Art Teacher, for her unwavering commitment and tireless efforts in preparing our students and ensuring Leasure was so beautifully represented. Thank you also to the families who came out to support our young artists—your presence meant so much. Leasure students continue to shine, and we couldn’t be prouder!
SBAC & DeSSA State Testing Underway
Students in Grades 3–5 have begun their Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBAC) and have completed their ELA CAT and Performance Tasks. Next week, they will move on to the Math SBAC, which includes both the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) and the Performance Task (PT).
As a reminder, the SBAC assessments are aligned with Common Core State Standards and are designed to measure students' knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. These results help teachers provide targeted instruction to better meet each student’s needs. For more information, visit the SBAC Parent FAQ.
In addition, students in Grades 4 and 5 will take the DeSSA Social Studies assessment during the week of May 13th.
We sincerely thank our families for your words of encouragement, motivational notes, and continued support in helping students feel confident and prepared. Your partnership makes all the difference!
