- Grad Quote - submit before April 1 Parameters are listed in the google form. Reminder: quote and source must be appropriate. All quotes will get vetted by staff and several have been cut in the past. Choose wisely. This quote will go beside your grad picture in the yearbook.

Grad Eligibility
To be eligible to graduate and to attend the graduation ceremony a student must be eligible to earn 100 credits in courses required for a high school diploma from Alberta Education, by the end of June 2025. Students must be passing courses in semester two when the final list is completed. See the link below to find a list of the specific courses required to graduate.
If you have any concerns regarding your grad eligibility, please make an appointment to see
Mr. Horb in the main office as soon as possible.

MyPass: This is where students have access to marks, credits, transcripts and much more.
Students must register with Alberta Education for registering to rewrite diploma exams, order transcripts, and view and print diploma exam results (they are no longer mailed out). You will need your Alberta Student Number to get started. Please see Mr. Horb, Mrs. Douglas, or Mme Lajoie to register for MyPass.
DIPLOMA MARKS
Semester 1 Diploma Marks have been posted on myPass.

Work Experience is a great way to accumulate credits and meet grad requirements. See Ms. Pearson in the Off Campus Office.
GRAD LISTS
Students are asked to check the grad lists (English and French Immersion) to make sure that their name appears on the list. The list is posted outside the office. A new list was posted at the end of February (after diplomas) and another will be posted in early May on the bulletin board outside the Students Union room.
Students are to see Mr. Horb if their name is not on the list and see Mme Ouelette if their name is not on the French Immersion list.
FUNDRAISING
Grade 12 students will host a variety of fundraising opportunities throughout the year to support the costs of graduation.
* All fundraisers require student participation, be it committee members, implementation and basic selling of product. Committee members will be in charge of planning and organizing the activity with teacher advisors.

GRAD COMMENCEMENT FEE
An invoice will be sent to all parents regarding the $125 grad fees (dependent on fundraising).
This fee covers the following: gown rental, cap and tassel keepsake, diploma cover, printing of diplomas and the programs, commencement photo, keychain momento, production.
GRAD REHEARSAL / CAP AND GOWN PICKUP
The mandatory Grad Assembly and Rehearsal is on Tuesday, June 3rd, Periods 3 & 4, in the large gym.
- Following the rehearsal, students must pick up their cap and gown to take home.
- Students must bring their cap, gown and stole to the Convention Center as we do not have extras. Students will return their gown and stole at the Edmonton Convention Centre following the morning commencement exercises. The company will charge the individual grads for unreturned items.
- Cap and tassel are kept as a memento.

GRAD COMMENCEMENT AND GALA
Congratulations Grads - this is our 62nd Graduation celebration.
This years events will be held at the Edmonton Convention Centre
Morning Event:
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
Saturday, June 7, 2025.
- arrive by 8:30 am for picture taking and the line-up
- doors open at 9:00 am (there is no limit to how many guests can attend the morning ceremony
- Commencement Ceremony starts promptly at 9:45 am (usually last 3 hours - depending on the size of the graduating class).
Grad Day Salon bookings:
We recommend not booking a hair/makeup appointment before 2:00 pm. We have finished previous ceremonies around 12:15 pm; however, this grad class is potentially over 492 graduates so we may not finish before 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm.
Evening Event:
GRAD GALA & DANCE
Saturday, June 7, 2025
- arrive by 6:00 pm as this will afford time for photos and a class picture before the evening events
- Grad Class Photo: 6:15pm (tentative)
- Gala starts promptly at 7:00 pm and ends at 11:00 pm
The order of events includes: toasts and speeches, grad song, historians, slide show, grand march followed by the dance.
Appetizer food stations will be available at 8:00pm. A list of ingredients will be listed at each food station. THIS IS NOT DINNER. Please have your full evening meal before coming to the Gala.
PLEASE NOTE: Events like any type of Safe Grad/After Grad functions are not affiliated with Paul Kane High School.
GALA / DANCE TICKET SALES
Ticket sales for the Gala & Dance will take place April 28 - May 9, 2025 on our website.
Policy at the Edmonton Convention Centre: Table settings must be groups of 8, 9, 10, or if necessary 11 (tables cannot be fewer than 8 people). If you have fewer than 8 guests you will be seated with another family.
This is how the ticket sales will be organized:
Starting April 28th Grads will be able to purchase tickets by going on the Paul Kane website.
Steps:
- Click on Students.
- Click on Grad.
- Click on the Grad Gala event.
- Student ID will be required to purchase tickets.
NOTE: All student fees must be paid in full before Student ID will be activated. - Click on the seating map and select your seats.
- Seats chosen will add to a cart for checkout.
- Submit payment information.
- Tickets will be emailed to you and you can print-to-home your tickets.
NOTE: Tickets will be scanned at the door.
- Grads are limited to 5 tickets (including Grads).
- There are NO refunds after tickets are purchased.
- The ticket price for the graduation Gala is $(65) per ticket.
- There is a service fee added to the total.
The evening of the event all Tickets will be scanned at the door and any guests suspected of being intoxicated will be denied entrance (GRADS included).
