Recess in the Snow at Parmenter
What to Expect and How to Prepare!
Dear Parmenter Families,
With snowy weather upon us, we want to remind everyone of our recess expectations to ensure students stay safe and enjoy their outdoor playtime.
- Come Prepared: Students must wear snow pants and boots to play in the snow. Gloves, hats, and jackets are also essential to stay warm.
- Snow Play Rules: While playing in the snow, students may not throw snow.
- Creations in the Snow: Snowmen and forts are fun to build! However, since our playground is shared by six grade levels and the town (after school hours), we cannot guarantee these creations will remain intact. Let’s respect others’ creations!
- Hardtop Play: Students without snow pants and boots will still have fun playing on the hardtop area.
Our hope is that if your child needs practice putting on their snow gear, adults at home can help them prepare, especially for our younger students. That said, we will make accommodations and provide support at school as needed to ensure all students can participate and enjoy recess.
Thank you for helping your child come prepared for snowy recess fun. We’re excited to make the most of winter at Parmenter!
Warm regards,
Evan, Principal
