Greetings to All,

A special thank you goes to our Spur PTA for their celebration and appreciation of our Comanche Springs staff! Every day was full of such joy and wonderful treats, drinks, and food. Thank you all so much for the energy and creativity, time and money you poured into our staff this week. It was absolutely wonderful, and we are so appreciative of you!

A quick reminder of two things.

1. Please make sure your child arrives every day this week on time and stays at least until 10:00. We are battling for the prize of best attendance in EMS ISD! With your help, we can earn it this week. Know, we totally understand if your child is running a fever or ill. But if not, please make sure they are here to be counted present and ready to learn on-time for the start of a great day in the Land of the Spurs!

2. With warm weather, and it is going to be really warm a few days this week, make sure that your child is appropriately dressed. EMS ISD dress code does not allow for clothing that shows the tummy area, shorts shorter than mid-thigh or spaghetti strapped shirts or dresses or tank tops. One last thing, we are so proud of the growth our students have made this year. You will be receiving their final test data in the early days of summer, and the growth we are making with our students is to be celebrated. Thank you as always for the support you give at home for their successful learning.

Check out the calendar of events and take note of our award dates and times as well as The Living Museum coming this Tuesday--May 13! Also, there is a lot of information regarding Friday's Field Day. Please take note of times, parking, and rotation stations. It is going to be a great week here at Comanche Springs!

Friday, May 23--1/2 Day -- Last Day of School!

Tina Turner, Bon Jovi, Selena Gomez, Louis Armstrong, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, Elvis and more will be in Spur country on Tuesday May 13th!!! Our very own 5th graders are so excited to present a living wax museum of "Music through the century"!

We are excited to have our 5th grade students showcase musicians through the century. Classes will be assigned to either the foyer or the library to see the museum, and our PreK through 4th grades will be visiting them. We invite parents to join us as well.

How to interact with the presenters:

5th graders will be frozen with their trifolds in front of them. There will be a red button on their trifold that your students will press when they want that presenter to "come to life". 5th grade students will give a brief speech about their person.

Feel free to visit as many presenters as you can.

It is almost May, and almost Field Day! Field Day is Friday, May 16th. Our Field Day shirts have arrived and students should have now received their Field Day shirts that ordered one. If you did not purchase a Field Day shirt yet for your child, we have very limited availability of youth sizes only, available in youth small, medium, and large. They are on sale in the front office for $12.00. It is first come, first serve until they are gone. Exact change only please. We are unable to accept overages and make change or accept donations.
