Dear ALCS families,
We (almost) made it to the end of the second quarter and the first semester! Spring Break will be here before you know it, although you can't tell by looking outside. Thank you to our students, staff and families for a successful first half of the school year. We look forward to many more great things as we all begin with a fresh start.
Mother Nature has graced us with cold and snow to start the new year. We appreciate your patience and understanding with regards to decisions to close schools due to the weather. While there is no exact science or set criteria that goes into making the decision to cancel school, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Please know that we are constantly monitoring the weather and road conditions. I want to take this opportunity to thank our custodial and maintenance crews for their hard work and dedication at all hours of the day to maintain our building grounds.
We also will do our best to communicate closings in a timely manner as we know many families need to make alternate arrangements when schools are canceled. Often the timing of snow can make a huge difference and change our course of action at the last minute. We will notify families of school closures as soon as possible.
