First Day Assembly-Singing our School Songs
Welcome Back!
First Day Assembly-Meeting New Staff
Principal Update:
Dear Hubbard Woods Families,
Our school year started with an amazing assembly for our 1st-4th grade students on Wednesday. We welcomed our new students and staff and sang our school songs with our loud and proud voices. Wow, it felt so amazing to be back together and singing in our auditorium!
Just a reminder- 2:45 dismissal on Mondays! Kindergarten is still 2:10. Stay and Play/Bridge Care ends at 2:45 as well.
We have successfully navigated our first week with students. We know that it can be hard to get back into the logistics of a daily school schedule. We also know that the drop-off and pick-up routines have been a bit overwhelming for some of us. Likely, we will not have as many parents, grandparents, etc. milling around as there was last week. To that end, we ask that all parents drop off their children as quickly as possible to decrease overcrowding. At this point, no adults should enter our playground during school hours. It can be very confusing for children to see other parents on the playground and wonder why their parents are not. Please plan a spot to say goodbye before getting to the playground.
Please remind your children to lock up their bikes. We have more bikes than ever so I will be trying to move the bike racks around to provide a better place to do so. The greatest amount of racks is on the east side of the school.
Please do not forget sunscreen and labeled water bottles and masks. We are excited to have everyone back in our building!
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody
Principal
Reminders:
Please note that while I am a HUGE dog lover, Village Ordinance prohibits dogs on school property. Also, cell phone use while driving on/around school grounds is illegal. "A person, regardless of age, may not use a wireless telephone at any time while operating a motor vehicle on a roadway in a school speed zone." Thank you for helping us keep kids safe as we know they can make unexpected decisions regarding crossing streets, etc.
HEALTH
All Kindergarten and new students need to have: Physical, Vision, and Dental forms turned into school ASAP. 2nd graders need a recent dental form as well. If you have any medical concerns please reach out to our nurse, Ashley Jaskowski.

Elementary Principal Update
Dear Families,
It is with great joy that we celebrate the start of the new school year! It was a pleasure to welcome children and families to our school on a bright, Wednesday morning. Our teachers and greater school staff have immediately sought to engage students in learning and meaningful community-building. A special thank you goes out to our PTOs for partnering with us this past week.
Each week, our schools will send home a newsletter such as this via email. These newsletters are typically sent on Mondays, or the first day of the school week. They will contain important information from your child’s specific elementary school, district-wide updates, and news about joint efforts between our three elementary schools. For this reason, many weeks will include a joint letter from the elementary school principal team. Communication specific to your child’s classroom will be communicated by their individual teacher.
Lastly, we want to encourage parents and caregivers to mark their calendars for our Go-to-School Night on Thursday, September 15th (6:00 - 7:30pm). A more detailed communication sharing the structure and specific times of the evening will be coming soon.
Thank you for partnering with our schools with the common goal of providing an exceptional learning environment for our students.
Sincerely,
Beth Carmody, Hubbard Woods
Luke Livingston, Crow Island
Joshua Swanner, Greeley
