Tuesday, November 19, 2024 is a half day of school. We will begin dismissal at 12:25pm beginning with JK/K students. Please remember to let your child's teacher know how they are getting home.

Michigan weather is constantly changing each day. Please make sure your child has the proper attire for outdoor play. We go outside every day for students to enjoy the fresh air. If you are in need of resources as we approach the winter months please don't hesitate to reach out to Taneia.

Picture Retake Day is scheduled for November 19th, 2024.

Wixom has a long tradition of supporting families for the Holidays. This year, we want to provide families with Holiday support by collecting gift cards from various stores to give to families so they can shop for their children and feel a sense of excitement and support. The Snow Angels Program provides us with the opportunity to help make the holidays special.

It is as simple as the following steps:

1. While you are out shopping pick up a gift card for any increment. (Target, Walmart, Meijer, Kroger)

2. Drop the gift cards off at Wixom by December 9th.

3. The week of December 9th families will be contacted to pick up gift cards.

PTA UPDATES

Thank you to our school community for a fun and successful Color Run on October 11. Our school community raised $6,500 leading up to the event. We especially wanted to thank our corporate donors and sponsors: The Peterson Companies, Inc; Marco’s Pizza; Michigan Hardwood Distributors, and Cantoro’s Italian Market. These funds will go towards student learning materials, field trips and assemblies, and teacher recognition and support.

Looking for an easy way to support our school? Shop for groceries at Kroger and they will contribute money to our PTA. It’s easy to sign up in the Kroger App:

1. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner

2. Choose “Rewards”

3. Choose “Community Rewards”

4. Search for “Wixom Elementary PTA” and enroll

In addition to receiving phone calls and email notifications from the school district in the event of a school closing or emergency, parents can also sign up to receive SMS Text messages.

If you do not have access to a computer at home for your child to use for iReady lessons,

please contact the school and we may be able to let you borrow a Chromebook. We have a limited number of Chromebooks available for students to borrow for the year.
