Principal's Notes
Some thoughts for the starting school year
Principal's Update
Welcome back!!!!!
It seems like summer goes by faster every year and then all of a sudden the start of school sneaks up on you. Freshman return on 8/19 and then the whole building returns on 8/20. The return to school is exciting as half of our students are either starting their senior year or coming to high school for the first time.
- I would like to Welcome Mrs. Heather McGrath as our new assistant principal at Strongsville High School. Heather has taught in the district for many years in our science department, recently teaching AP physics with outstanding results. Heather replaces Mr. Sean Collins who has taken a new role in the district supporting both the high and middle schools.
- Please remind your child to check their school email often as there is important information sent regularly.
- I am adding the high school social media feeds in which you can see what is going on in the building this year. At SHS try to provide honest and regular communication about what is going on in the HS. This year I'm starting a HS tik tok so please check it out. As I learn more I'm hoping to have fun with it.
I also encourage you to reach out to me, an assistant principal, athletic director, or counselor if you have any questions or need anything.

Mustang Strong!!!!
At SHS we use a PBIS matrix as a guide for positive behavioral guidelines and support for our students.
STRONG is the guideline for students throughout their day.
Safe
Trust-worthy
Respectful
Own-it
Never Settle
Get Engaged.
These are the actions that we want students to exhibit throughout their day at the high school. We want students to have a shared ownership of the building. The school belongs to all of us and how we treat the building and each other should be owned by everyone in the high school.
New Student Orientation 10-12th Grades
Hello New Students and Parents:
Welcome to Strongsville High School! We know that starting at a new school can cause some anxiety and fear. To help with this, we are inviting you to an orientation for new students in Grades 10-12 on Wednesday, August 19th from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Upon arrival, you will check in at the Main Office and then be escorted to the Little Theater for refreshments and an introductory meeting.
From there, students will tour the building, practice walking through their schedules, and have a chance to learn more about SHS Clubs and activities. We look forward to meeting you, and hope you will take advantage of this opportunity.
See you soon,
