Delaney Elementary School
Monthly Newsletter ~ June Edition
Dear Delaney Families,
I hope you and your families are doing well. Thank you for all of your support throughout our remote learning. The African proverb “It takes a village” has resonated with me during this time. Our entire Wrentham community has come together during unsettling times to help continue to teach our students how to learn and grow while feeling safe and staying connected to one another.
While we don’t know what the return to school will look like just yet, our Back to School Committee will work together throughout the summer to make any transition back to school as smooth and successful as possible.
I'd like to thank you for your input in the placement process. Teachers and staff members continue to work on the important task of putting together classes where all students can find academic and social success. Placement information and school supply lists will be sent out in early August.
Our kindergarten registration page is up and running. Please click here for information on kindergarten registration. You may contact me with any questions or concerns.
We will be having a Virtual Spirit Week from June 15-June 17.Please click here for more information. Our last day of school will be on Wednesday, June 17. Student report cards will be mailed home on Friday, June 19.
I hope that you and your families have a wonderful summer break. Please say hello to your children and let them know that I look forward to seeing them in the fall.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns throughout the summer.
Sincerely,
Miss Kathleen Maloney
VIRTUAL FIELD DAY
Hello Delaney Students,
The spirit of Field Day is alive! This year’s Field Day will be held on Monday, June 15th. It will be a little bit different, but the goal of Field Day will still be the same; to have fun, get outdoors, and participate in some great physical activity! Although you are at home, you can still participate in Field Day and show your spirit! We will be providing you with some descriptions and videos of our Field Day events and activities for you to participate in throughout the day. Since circumstances are different this year, you will have the choice to complete as many of the activities as you would like. We encourage you to complete them all if you can throughout the day! Most of the events and activities are WPS Field Day classics that you may remember, but some are new, so be sure to watch the videos and read the descriptions to follow next week! We are excited to see your participation and spirit on Monday, June 15th for WPS Virtual Field Day 2020!
Sincerely,
Wrentham Public Schools P.E. Department
Student Belongings
It was wonderful to see so many of you last week! The staff members were thrilled to be able to see their students and have some closure during this unique end to the school year. If you were unable to pick up your child’s belongings, we will keep them in the school until Friday, June 19th. Any items not picked up at that point will be thrown away. Please email me at maloneyk@wrenthamschools.org if you would like to pick up your child's belongings. We can arrange a day for me to leave them in the lobby for you. The front lobby is open daily from 8:00-4:00.
