The Family "Celebration" Chronicle
March 2024
A Message From The Principal
Greetings Margaretta Families,
I trust this letter finds you well as we welcome the month of March. It is exciting to share with you some new updates and to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students while also providing a glimpse into the upcoming school year.
Over the past month, our students have engaged in valuable hands-on learning experience while gaining valuable insights into potential career paths through job shadowing and internships. We are working to expand career opportunities for our students in an effort to better prepare them for their future endeavors. Our commitment to preparing students for the workforce is evident in the successful completion of bootcamps in Advanced Manufacturing and Healthcare which were sponsored by the Erie County Business Advisory Council. We are also thrilled to announce upcoming bootcamps in Hospitality and Tourism, as well as a specialized program focusing on "Women in the Trades."
As we eagerly plan for the upcoming school year, I'm excited to share some key scheduling updates:
New College Credit Statistics Class:
We are excited to introduce a new College Credit Statistics class for the 2024-2025 school year. This course will be taught by Mrs. Dulgar. It will provide students with the opportunity to delve into the world of statistics and earn college credits while still in high school. We believe this addition will further enrich our academic offerings and prepare students for success in higher education.
Government Transition to Junior Year:
We are moving our Government course to the junior year. Recognizing its importance, we are also transitioning it into a semester-long course to provide a comprehensive yet focused exploration of civic education.
New Social Studies Semester Courses:
In line with our commitment to meeting student interests, we are excited to introduce two new semester courses in the Social Studies department based on the feedback we gathered from our students. These courses are:
History through Film: Exploring historical events and narratives through the lens of cinema.
Popular Culture: Examining the impact and significance of popular culture on society.
These additions aim to make our curriculum more dynamic and relevant to the evolving interests of our student body. We would like to express our gratitude for your continued support and encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about their course selections for the upcoming school year. We believe these changes will contribute to a more enriching and tailored educational experience for each student.
Engaging in extracurricular activities offers student the opportunity to grow and develop beyond the classroom. These experiences not only facilitate the exploration and refinement of one's talents but also develops essential life skills like teamwork, leadership, and effective time management. Importantly, the positive influence of such involvement extends into the world of academics, where the discipline and confidence gained contribute significantly to success in the classroom. Below is a list of some of our students' accomplishments this winter.
- Our middle school robotics team advanced to the state competition.
- The high school Academic Challenge team made to playoffs for the second time in school history.
- One of our middle school students has qualified for state completion.
- Vinny Barnette
- We had three district qualifiers for high school wrestling.
- Cohen Gahler, Wyatt Goodrich, Trace Wilson
- There were two swimmers who qualified for state competition.
- Carson Miller 24th Place 50 M Freestyle
- Alayna Biehl 17th Place 50 M Freestyle and 30th 100M Freestyle
- Boys Basketball has advanced to district play.

I hope March continues to bring many more celebrations and accomplishments for our students!
