Superintendent, Dr. Lori Bein, updated the Board on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests from the public:
- Thomas Jankowski requested information on an Open Meetings Act decision; a response was provided on January 20, 2023.
Nathan Mihelich, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, requested information on district retirees; a response was provided on January 27, 2023.
- Laura Quesada, Contract Administrator at Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling requested information on a beverage agreement; a response was provided on January 27, 2023.

TEACHER PARTNERSHIP WITH BELLWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT 88
Arlington Heights School District 25 and Bellwood School District 88 are entering a trial, teacher-partnership this spring. The purpose of this partnership is to give a small group of excellent teachers the experience of teaching in different communities with different student demographics and staff demographics.

MOTION: APPROVED
Extension of Bus Transportation Contract
That the Board of Education approve the Extension of the Bus Transportation Contract with Cook County School Bus Co for 2023-24.
Assistant Superintendent of Business/CSBO, Stacey Mallek presented this item to the Board. This contract sees a 0.5% increase for 2023-24, or an increase of about $163,355, based on maintaining the similar number and types of routes as the 2022-23 school year. These increases are due to Cook County School Bus Company's need to increase pay rates to attract additional drivers and remain competitive, increases in insurance premiums (property, liability, workers comp and excess), and a need to replace some buses to maintain the required average age of the fleet.

12. FACILITIES MANAGEMENT

2023 and 2024 Facilities Capital Improvement Projects
That the Board of Education approve the intended 2023 and 2024 Facilities Capital Improvement Projects as presented.
The projects presented to and approved by the Board are a list of capital projects intended to align with the timing of the building addition projects for the Kindergarten expansion projects. Approving this will improve the economy of scale with the upcoming Kindergarten expansion projects. These are intended to be implemented in the next 2 years in order to allow for better coordination, bidding and implementation.
