I was so thankful and proud of our children and staff for the extraordinary way the worked through Thursday. Inside the classrooms it was normal day - though it wasn't in the rest of the world.
I appreciate your partnership, support, and care you give us daily.
Wishing you peace and safety this weekend.
With thanks,
Shelli LeBlanc

Nurse Kendall's Update
End of the School Year Clinic Notes
All medication is to be picked up in the clinic by a parent or a designated adult at the end of the school year. Some of our students have medication at school with doses remaining. We can not send medication home with students at the end of the year. It is necessary for you to make arrangements for medication pick-up. It is recommended that emergency medications such as epinephrine and inhalers not be picked up until the last day of school. Any medication not picked up by 3:00 pm on the last day of school will be discarded. No medication can be kept at school over the summer months.
If your child has a medical condition such as food or other allergies, asthma, seizures, or diabetes and the child has a doctor appointment planned for the summer, please feel free to request or pick up a blank emergency action plan in advance from the nurse. They are also available to print from the Health Services website here.Note to LC 6-3 Families
We were so sad to have had to bring LC 6-3 back early from the Mission to Mars Field Trip.
Our PTO field trip coordinator worked tirelessly to reschedule the ½ day with the museum - but there has not been an available date and the field trip is meant to be a full day so scheduling a ½ day was impossible.
It was a fluke that the museum was able to reschedule the LC that was cancelled and never attended on the original date.
The numbers allowed in each section of the field trip would not allow for 6-3 to add on to the 6-4 day. That was one of the first questions we asked early on to the museum.
The museum was contacted multiple times a week for the last month to check availability and there has been none.
We are so very sorry and are thankful for your understanding.
It will be here before you know it...

Art Update
In Mr. Hunt’s art class, we are continuing to work on our sculpture unit. Students are learning about the main types of sculpture, creating an orthographic drawing, and creating a wearable sculpture out of paper mache and cardboard. In Mrs. Williams’ art class, students are finishing up making their clay sculptures. Once completed we will be moving into our structured studio environment where students will get the option of working with a variety of different mediums.
A note from Knox Girls Athletics -
Knox Junior High School Girls Athletics coaches will be at the Intermediates evaluating any 6th grade girl that signed up for Girls Athletics in 7th grade May 6-9th. We will be evaluating the 100M dash, volleyball skills, basketball skills, and the one mile. Students will be rated on a points scale. The purpose of girl's athletics is to develop student's skills in a competitive environment and play on the athletics teams. The girls athletics team lifts weights, participates in sprints, agilities, distance running, group workouts, and competes in challenges. The girls athletics coaches take pride in pushing the girls to their full potential, as we are trying to prepare the girls for the competition they will see in high school as well as collegiately for Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field. Our hope is for every girl in athletics to find a passion in sports and strive to be the best at whatever they choose to compete in.
