Message from the Principal
Dear Corbett Families and Students, As you may be aware, the Corbett School District is facing unprecedented financial challenges. We have been working to develop solutions that have the least impact on students, but I want to acknowledge that we cannot reduce staffing without some changes to our level of service. I am sharing the information that I have at this time, with the understanding that there are still some details that will need to be worked out. We will be meeting with students impacted by the change in our schedule during the week of November 18th, with schedule changes effective at the beginning of Trimester 2. The high school is going to have the following schedule changes: 7th period AP Spanish students will be moved into either 1st or 2nd period AP Spanish. 5th Period History of Rock and Roll students will need to choose an alternative elective. 7th Period Strings will be moved to 3rd Period Strings. 3rd Period Concert Band will be moved to the 7th period band 8th Period Study Hall students (with Mr. Young) will need to choose an alternate course. Teachers for those courses may shift, but that may not happen at the beginning of the trimester. The changes in the high school schedule are to prepare for a possible reduction in force situation. As soon as we have that information locked in, we will communicate that with students and families. Thank you for your continued support and partnership, Kathy Childress HS Principal

Senior Corner (Respost)
Seniors are reminded that some colleges and universities had their early action/early application deadlines on November 1st and others are coming up. Each institution sets their own deadline, so students should make sure to check the timelines for the schools they are hoping to attend. If a student missed early action, it just means that they will apply in the next window.
Ms. Pekny, our school counselor, is here to support you and your family every step of the way. If you have any questions at the moment, please reach out to Ms. Pekny at spekny@corbett.k12.or.us and she’ll be happy to help!
Ms. Pekny is also organizing group college visits this fall. Check out the Senior Google Classroom for more information.
