October 1st is our kick off for our recycling program at South this school year. We will start off by recycling alkaline batteries. Please send in your used AA, AAA, C, D batteries to recycle. Recycling batteries helps keep acid from leaking into our water systems.
Halloween Costume Assistance
Do you need assistance with Halloween costumes? If so please reach out to our school social worker, Mrs. Biddle, via email @ nbiddle@d47.org on ways to get your child a Halloween costume!

Upcoming Events
- We are excited that we are going to be able to have family spectators at the Apex Obstacle Course on Wednesday, September 25th! We will have a set area where spectators can watch. Only approved volunteers will be able to interact with the students and be on the course during the event. Thank you for following our safety protocol, so we are able to have our South community come and enjoy the event, to cheer on our students!
- Please join us for our first PTO meeting of the 2024-2025 school year on Thursday, September 26th at 7:00 pm in the school cafeteria (updated date and time). Come learn more about Supporters of South and ways to support our teachers and school!
- Save the date to celebrate our successful Apex fall fundraiser! The Glow-tacular will take place on Thursday, October 3rd from 5:30-7:00 pm at South. There will be a DJ, activities and face painting. South students are encouraged to wear bright colors and/or their glow-tacular t-shirts to glow under the black lights! Refreshments will be available for purchase. Please note: this is NOT a drop-off event. Parents/Guardians will need to be in attendance with their children.
