Growing Good Citizens
We as teachers and learners together are working hard to understand and utilise perceived differences as strengths for future growth. We came across this wonderful short clip for all to enjoy. Every single one of us are teachers in the life of our children, not just those who chose education as a career and vocation.

Sevens Soccer Cluster Event
We are looking out for adults to be support people for three of our teams in Yr 5-8. You do not
have to be a sports coach, you just need to sub on and off and direct the teams a little. Without
adults the teams cannot go. Thanks to the offer of one parent so far we have 3 teams covers.
A fun day to be had on Tuesday 24 September with a postponement day of Thursday 26 September.
Taranaki Cross Country Wednesday 25 September
We will be departing at 0930 by bus.
Each student will need: some warm clothing including a coat (this runs in the rain is only called off in extreme weather), plenty of water to drink, snacks and lunch.
Running shoes are recommended for runners.
First race of 9 and under starts at 11am.
Students should run between two flags or within 5 m of a single flag.
Food Scraps
Thought about feeding our pigs Marmite & Toast? You have a new scrap bin from the council that would be handy for you to bring along when you are walking your child/children to school. Wow farm life and experiences at our door. We will readily take these scraps.
We are proud to be Smoke Free
We all have a right to quality air. Thank you for respecting this and enforcing this.
Important Information for Parents / Whanau
Thank you the 52 parents who have responded to our survey thus far. We neglected to put an area, where you can record your phone number (no name) so we can put you in the
draw for the prizes. Please send a quick email through to office@inglewood.school.nz
For those of you yet to complete the survey please take the time to complete it as your voice is important to us. We have over 500 parents and would love to hear from each and everyone of you.. We undertake community surveys every three years so this is your year.
Safety Concerns/Near Misses On Crossings
1 parent has offered help so far! We need more help. (Buddy up with someone)
There have been a number of problems on the Miro Street pedestrian crossing. The traffic and
congestion are making it difficult for our young students to manage. We need parents to step up
and support us with manning this morning 0830-0855 and afternoon 1455-1515, like our few lovely
volunteers are doing now. HELP please. Contact the office to add your name to the roster assist
with the safety of our children. Many hands make light work. We would like to not have students
manning this in the near future as the traffic is increasing.
Cyber Safety Agreements
The elearning team led by Mrs Alice Smith have our new ICT User Agreements ready to distribute. These went out in hard copy to all students a couple of weeks ago Please ensure you read them WITH your child, sign them and return them to the Office. Debbie and Mia will document the returned agreements . Please note, if we do NOT have the agreement back, for your child/children there will be NO access for them to our school devices.
Reminders of information given on enrolment to IPS
We understand that on enrolment there is a wealth of information to read and understand, so each week, we will re share snippets to ensure clarity for all.
Yummy Stickers: Please return all part or full sheets of stickers to the school office by 16 September so we can redeem them for sports equipment for our school. Please remember to continue collecting these throughout the year. Thank you for your support.
Sports Uniforms: Please check your cupboards, under beds, drawers etc for any sports uniforms that belong to the school office. We have a lot not returned. Thank you
School Accounts: Please ensure your Term 3 ECF payments are paid by the end of Term.

Measles Information from TDHB
Taranaki has had several cases of people with measles. We don’t have an outbreak at the moment but more cases are likely because of the large outbreak in Auckland.
Now is a very good time to make sure everyone in your whanau has protection against measles. Children should be vaccinated on time at 15 months and four years of age.
If you don’t think you are immune to measles you need to make an appointment with your GP clinic for an MMR vaccination.
Please be patient if you can’t be vaccinated straight away. It is not possible to vaccinate everyone at once.
The risk of catching measles in Taranaki is still low.
Taranaki DHB has a new measles FAQs page which aims to answer questions you might have about measles. Click the link below to view the FAQs, which can also be reached via the Taranaki DHB website home page.
