AAPAC UPDATES
March 2022
Happy Women's History Month!
Greetings African American/Black Families, AAPAC Members, and Valued Partners!
Thank you to everyone who planned, advocated for, and participated in the honoring of our history and our culture city wide. One of the most memorable highlights was the Annual African American Honor Roll hosted by SF Alliance of Black School Educators. There where over 1500 students were acknowledged for having a 3.0 or higher GPA! Way to go scholars!
In honor of Women's History Month, we pay tribute to the many she-roes whose shoulders we stand on. We are grateful for the continued sacrifices made by women past and present and we look forward to what the future holds for our girls of tomorrow. Be sure to thank a woman today and uplift them everyday!
Please check out the important information, updates and opportunities below from AAPAC, SFUSD and our wonderful community partners.
In Unity,
AAPAC

- Help develop your school's priorities and plans for next year
- Learn about funding and other sources to serve your students
It is critical that Black families, especially site based AAPACs are apart of and active in these conversations. To join, REGISTER USING THIS LINK. The passcode is 544549. Check in with your school administrator for additional conversations happening at the site level.
For support, reach out to us at aapac@sfusd.edu and we will help connect you.
Redistricting in San Francisco
Every 10 years, the City redraws districts based on census data. According to the SF Census Redistricting website, "Redistricting is done to equalize the populations in the districts, using various criteria." This could have major impacts on the communities of color including our voting power.
Your voices need to be heard! There are several ways to do that, but the easiest is to attend a community meeting and then submit your Community of Interest public input. Click the link to learn more. For a list of upcoming community meetings by district, visit the redistricting website.
AAPAC will be attempting to learn more about this process and will share back our learnings and additional opportunities to get involved.
