A Note from the Principal
Dear Scott DL Families,
As the holiday season approaches, I want to take a moment to thank you for your partnership in fostering a love of learning in your children. This time of year is filled with joy, togetherness, and cherished traditions. One tradition I hope you will continue is the habit of reading together each night.
Reading is not only a wonderful way to build literacy skills but also a special opportunity to connect as a family. Whether it’s a festive holiday story, a favorite classic, or simply exploring a new book together, those moments spent reading can create memories that last a lifetime.
On behalf of our entire school community, I wish you and your family a holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and lots of great books. Thank you for all you do to support your child’s growth and success.

HELPING YOUR CHILD THRIVE
Counselors' Corner
Did you know that some of the most amazing things happen when we don’t give up? Perseverance is like having a special superpower that helps us keep trying, even when things feel tough. Just like learning a new math problem or writing in our second language, sometimes we need to try again and again.
Our December Character Strong topic is perseverance. Throughout the month, your student(s) will be learning strategies to help them keep trying when things get hard. Every mistake is just another chance to learn! When the student(s) feel like something is too hard, remind them to take a deep breath, think about what they can do differently, and give it another try. If you want to learn more ways to support your student(s) in persevering when things feel hard click the link for their grade level below.
