Principal's Message
Greetings Washington Families,
Welcome back to another exciting week at Washington GT Magnet Elementary! Last week, I represented our school at the National Conference on Magnet Schools and was presented with an award to acknowledge Washington GT Magnet Elementary as a Magnet School of Excellence! It was a #ProudPrincipal moment!
This Thursday, April 25th, we're excited to invite you to a virtual session hosted by the WCPSS Family Academy. This session will focus on preparing our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students for the upcoming End-of-Grade tests. It's a valuable opportunity to gain insights, strategies, and resources to support your child's success. Mark your calendars and join us for this informative session!
Additionally, it's that special time of year when we come together to celebrate and appreciate our incredible staff members who work tirelessly to nurture and educate our children. Staff Appreciation Week is just around the corner, and our fantastic PTA is organizing several ways for our Washington community to get involved. Whether it's volunteering your time, donating food, school supplies, or funds- every contribution makes a meaningful difference in showing gratitude to our dedicated staff.

It's National Volunteer Week!
Our amazing volunteers at Washington GT Magnet Elementary School are like the superheroes of our school community, always stepping up to lend a hand and make a difference. Whether it's helping out in classrooms, organizing fun events, or pitching in for fundraisers, these volunteers bring so much energy and heart to everything they do. They're not just helping out teachers and staff—they're creating awesome experiences for our students and bringing families together.
But it's not just about the tasks they tackle. These volunteers are role models for our kids, showing them the power of giving back and being part of something bigger. Their involvement strengthens the bond between home and school, making our community stronger and more connected. We're incredibly grateful for our parent volunteers. Their dedication and enthusiasm make Washington GT Magnet Elementary School a special place to learn and grow!

Students in Grades 3rd-5th will take the End-of-Grade (EOG) State Test at the end of this school year. For your planning purposes, the program dates for the end of the school year are: June 13 and June 14. Transportation will be provided, and breakfast and lunch will be available.
Lunch Visitors 🍕
We love when parents and family members come to eat lunch with their Wiz Kids. As a reminder, all students can invite two friends to join them for lunch. Together, you may sit at the side tables or in the courtyard.
If choosing to sit in the courtyard, please help us remind students that it is lunch time, not play time! After lunch, we appreciate your help with cleaning up. Please wait by the door and a staff member will let you back inside.
