Week of February 24-28

*We will have several different required testing sessions on campus this week. During those tests, bells will be turned off. Due to the required tests, we will not have break this week. We will resume our break schedule next week. The Learning Commons will be closed while testing is in session.

Monday: Regular Schedule: EL Testing; Etowah County Baseball Tournament at Sardis this week - Southside vs Gaston 4:00, SS vs. Glencoe 7:00 (all games at Sardis; outcome of games will determine when team plays later in week); JV Soccer vs. Ft. Payne; Tennis @ Mortimer Jordan; Mandatory Cheer Tryout Parent Meeting at 6:00 in the Learning Commons! Chess Club meets in LC afterschool, 3-4.

Tuesday: Regular Schedule: EL Testing; JV/V Soccer vs. John Carroll, V/JV SB vs. Springville; Tennis vs. Hewitt Trussville; Math tutoring after school in library 3-4

Wednesday: Odd Block: WorkKeys Retest!! This is a really important test for our seniors that need to retest. If you are testing, you have been notified. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Clark or Mrs. Tomlinson; EL Testing; FFA Field Trip to Auburn

Thursday: Even Block: FCA meets in LC @ 7:15; Free Math tutoring after school 3-4; Finish WorkKeys Testing; EL Testing; 9th boys soccer vs. Gardendale; V/JV SB @ Etowah; Tennis (girls only) vs. Etowah

Friday: Regular Schedule: Cheer Tryouts - Good Luck to all the ladies trying out today! FFA LDE Invitational; EL Testing; Day 1 of ECBOE County Soccer Tournament; JV Baseball @ HB; JVG Soccer vs. Lincoln; V SB @ Wetumpka Tournament

All students that are tardy, checking-in to school or checking out of school MUST GO THROUGH THE FRONT OFFICE. We have a new finger scan system in place (very similar to the lunchroom finger scan system) where each student will scan in or out with check-in/check-outs and tardies.

A parent, guardian, or someone on your check-out list MUST sign you out of school to checkout. This is the same as always. The student must then go through the office to scan out before leaving. This procedure must be followed.

We do not accept over the phone checkouts. Please do not call the school for a checkout. Someone on the students checkout list must come and sign the student out of school. Please do not email to the school for a checkout.

If there are extenuating circumstances or an emergency situation, please contact an administrator or the front office.

Please remember how important attendance at school is! Please don't checkout of school unless absolutely necessary. If you are absent, please turn excuses in to front office.

Students: Eat lunch with a new friend this week in the lunchroom!

Please remember to follow our dress code policy! Remember - Cell phones are not allowed to be out or used in any classroom! Only clear or mesh backpacks allowed in classrooms. Fast food and outside drinks are not allowed in the building! Please throw this away before entering the building.

Students are not allowed to exit the building to go to your car, even if you forgot something you really need! If you need something, you have to go through the office and an admin or SRO will escort you to your vehicle. Disciplinary consequence will apply if you do not follow these procedures!

This will be enforced!
