Principal's Note
If the trees didn't tell us that it is fall, I'm not sure we would know. The sugar beet trucks are running and harvest is upon us. I'd like families to speak with their drivers about driver safety during the high traffic portion of the year. All student have heard the message during grade level meetings to stay vigilant, whether they are driving, riding a bike, or walking to school.
The first quarter midterm concludes this Friday. This means that an F/I list will be generating next week. Those students that find themselves on the list are encouraged to seek help when needed. We will have a Cougar Pride event one week following all midterm and quarter end dates. Students will have one week to get their grades to passing in order to participate in the one class period Cougar Pride Event. We will be reinforcing this new program at school as well.
I would also request any/all assistance in connecting those community members/businesses in need of fall clean up. Our MHS students are beginning to make calls and take appointments for the annual Community Service Day on October 16th (our first 12:30pm release of the year). Please contact myself (joshc@ada.k12.mn.us) or Allie Lien (alliel@ada.k12.mn.us) to see if we can assist you or a neighbor this fall. This is a character building opportunity for our students and we will continue to support their growth throughout their secondary education.
Thank you all for your continued support. Roll Cougs!

A Message From SRO Alex Saric
Parking lot safety tips.
1. Be careful pulling through parking spaces to cross the lot. Going too fast around parked/moving vehicles could obstruct vision and cause accidents to occur.
2. Please wear a seatbelt for your safety. It's also Minnesota State law!
3. Exercise caution near the walking paths in the parking lot. Students walking have a stop sign, but do not always stop. Just simply slowing down, looking both ways, and yielding could prevent an accident.
Everyone knows it can be very busy throughout the day on school grounds, but exercising situational awareness can prevent accidents and incidents.
