BADGER BEAT- Summer Family Update

Welcome back to Pine Creek- A Caring Community Inspiring All to Achieve

The Pine Creek staff is proud of the school year we recently wrapped up and are looking forward to welcoming our students back for the 2024-2025 school year! We hope that your family is enjoying a summer full of relaxation and memories.

Instruction at Pine Creek will start again on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 for the first day of class. The first day will be an 11:40 am dismissal. No lunch will be served on this day.

We will be hosting our Back to School Night on August 13 this year. All families are invited to join us in a Come and Go event from 5:30- 6:30 pm. You are encouraged to bring your children's school supplies with you on Back To School night. If you ordered a school supply kit, they will be in your child's classroom, ready for Back To School Night. Due to the limited parking, if the weather and distance allows, feel free to walk to school with your family to Back to School Night!

Meal prices are as follows:

Breakfast- $1.90

Lunch- $2.80

Milk- $0.55

Semester snack milk- $48.40 - Semester snack milk is open. Please pay using your MySchoolBucks account. After August 23, payments for first semester snack milk will no longer be accepted. Second semester will be open for payment in December.

We encourage all families to complete Student Verification using the NebSIS Family information that was previously emailed to you. If you have completed online verification and have provided all necessary documentation (birth certificate, immunization records) your child is registered for school.

If you need assistance completing online verification, have documentation that needs to be turned into the school or have questions for office staff, there will be two in person verification dates, Thursday, August 1st and Friday, August 2nd from Noon - 4 pm. Verification for Pine Creek will be held in the office at Pine Creek Elementary. If Student Verification has been completed and there is no documentation that needs to be turned in, you do not need to attend verification days.

Families can make payments for lunch and snack milk online through myschoolbucks.com after August 6th.

All families who have completed the Verification Process will be notified of the homeroom teacher on/after August 2nd.

Kindergarten round up will take place on August 1 and 2 for all incoming Kindergarten students who are registered.

Mrs. Peterson sent an informational packet to let each family know of their assigned date and time. Please call the school at (402)238-2372 if you are unsure of your child's round up time.

Students will remain at round up for 2 hours, playing and creating with their teachers and new friends. Parents are asked to remain at school for 15-20 minutes following student drop off to attend a brief information session with Ms. Dellwo, Mrs. Bendell, and our counselors Mrs. Guinn and Mrs. Pryor.

Pine Creek Elementary wants to be connected to our community! We will be communicating important school news through a weekly newsletter, Badger Beat. The Badger Beat will be emailed out weekly and will be your source for schoolwide dates and events. We also invite you to join us on Twitter for news, pictures, and announcements happening daily @PineCreek_elem. You are also invited to tag @PineCreek_elem with the #PineCreekProud for anything related to Pine Creek. We want everyone to know that our community is #PineCreekProud!

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month at 7pm. Please follow their Facebook page at PineCreekPTO for updates and events. Please save the date of September 27th for the PTO Fun Run. Your child’s involvement in gathering donations for the fundraiser will go directly back to our children at Pine Creek Elementary! The money raised by our students funds parent, teacher and student support throughout the school year.

Please join the PTO for their first official event of the school year- Cheers and Tears Breakfast! Donuts and coffee will be served in the gym on August 14 following student drop off. Please enter through the bus loop gym doors.

The district will continue to have regular early dismissal days to facilitate staff professional learning. 2 early releases will take place on Tuesdays- March 25 and April 22. All other early releases will be on Wednesdays.
