GE Partners with Gwynedd Mercy to Welcome CSD Alumna As Student Teacher
Glenside Elementary and Gwynedd Mercy University are partnering together to welcome student teacher Kamille Burris back to the district to support her goal of working in education.
The 2020 Cheltenham High School Aluma graduated from Arcadia University’s R.E.A.L certificate program this Spring and is currently enrolled at Gwynedd Mercy majoring in education through their integrated studies program.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude that the school that supports life skills can welcome back a graduate of the district as a student teacher,” said Glenside Principal Dr. Michelle Robinson. “I love being in a district where opportunities like this can happen, and all learners are affirmed!”
Burris will be teaching at Glenside once a week for the next eight weeks. She has demonstrated excellence in her work and the district is thrilled to add to that experience in a school age setting.

WES Fourth Graders Test Their PBIS Knowledge
Wyncote fourth graders tested their PBIS knowledge Friday morning by playing a Blooket for a chance to win gift certificates to the Roars Store. Students answered 25 questions about the PBIS expectations for the school year. Each question they answered correctly awarded them points. The three students who earned the highest amount of points won the gift certificates. Miles H. came in third place, Eliora T. came in second place, and Jaia E. came in first place. Congratulations to the winners!
Robot Petting Zoo Comes to Life at CES
Fourth graders in Gerald Aungst’s class showcased their robotic animal creations to the first graders and members of the administration on Friday morning. The students finalized their projects by ensuring the animals moved and looked as they planned before they demonstrated their designs to the younger students.
Assistant Superintendent ShaVon Savage observed the fabrications and helped the groups get ready before the zoo was open for business. One group coded their owl to have its head move 180 degrees; another programmed a bear with sensors so its head moved when students gave it “food.” There were tails wagging, eyes blinking and lights reflecting as well. First grade students will continue to visit the petting zoo over the next month as the fourth graders finalize their designs. Read more> | Pictures and video>
