Thank You! It's Time to Wrap up the 2023-2024 School Year!

I am in awe of how quickly our year has gone. I have been reflective of the many things I have learned and the wonderful ways that the faculty, staff, and school community (parents) have supported me as I have worked to support these great students. Thank you for your patience as I have grown in this role. I look forward to working with you next year. Please read this newsletter carefully, it is packed with current year information and information to start our year next August. There are lots of classroom activities happening this month. Please read emails and notifications from your teachers carefully. Thanks for letting me a part of your student's educational experience at Orchard Hills Elementary.

CLASSROOM TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS FOR 2024-2025

I have started getting parent questions about requesting a student's teacher for next year. I don't do parent requests for teachers, however, I realize that some of you have special requests due to student needs and placement with other students. Please email me those concerns BEFORE MAY 24TH. After this date, I will be unable to make accommodations. I appreciate your consideration in supporting this request. It is difficult to change students once a placement has been made. We are very careful and deliberate to make classes equitable with student needs, and changing students after placement has been made is very difficult. Please contact me if you have questions. For your information, I am attaching a list of our teachers to date.

Our last day of school will be May 23rd. Dismissal will be at noon. We will still serve breakfast/lunch.

COMING TO KINDERGARTEN NEXT YEAR?

Please register as soon as possible, and identify your choice of all day or half day Kindergarten! We are beginning to look at our enrollment numbers closely. We will send a sign up sheet for you to sign up for a day to bring your Kindergarten student to school for a brief screener. Watch for this in July! This screener will support us with classroom assignments for next year. Thank you for your support in registering early.

Take a break from cooking on Monday, May 6th and enjoy a delicious meal at Marcos Pizza! Why? For everyone that orders food at Marco's between 5-10 p.m. and mentions they are from Orchard Hills - they will donate a portion of the sale back to our PTA! It's a win, win! We sure appreciate the support of our local businesses!

SCHOOL WIDE FIELD DAY

Let the Sun Shine!!

We are scheduled to have our annual Field Day, sponsored by the PTA, on May 22nd. Water will be involved, so dress accordingly. Please note that students should wear clothes that can get wet, at the end of our field day, all students will participate in a water activity. Let's hope for a nice, hot day!
