Tiger Tales Vol. 30
The latest news and updates from LGAE
Happy Friday Tiger Families!
It is officially May! As we enter into the last full month of school, we look back on this year with gratitude and appreciation for all those who made it happen. This year was unexpected, to say the least, but we could not be more grateful for the amazing community we have here at LGAE. When I walk the halls of campus, I'm filled with joy to hear the voices and laughter of students again. When I pop into our Zoom classrooms, I enjoy seeing the ways that students have adapted to learning from home and demonstrate their growth, resilience and independence. We have just a few more weeks to make this year count and we look forward to ending the year strong.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week and I invite you to join me in celebrating the work of our fabulous teachers. I could not speak more highly of the amazing teaching team we have here at LGAE. Our teachers have truly embraced the challenges of this school year and each of them care so deeply for the children that make up our LGAE family.
If you are looking for some fun ideas for ways to show appreciation to your teacher, here are a few, but feel free to get creative:
-Write a thank you note to your teacher
-Draw your teacher a picture
-Bring them a flower from your garden
-Record a video sharing your thanks
-Write a poem for your teacher

RE: Physical Activity and COVID-19
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We want to share with you some important information from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) regarding COVID-19 positive cases in students and physical activity.
According to the AAP, students who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past six months should obtain medical clearance from their pediatricians prior to returning to physical activity, at school or elsewhere. At school, this applies to physical activities including, but not limited to, physical education class, sports, marching band, and JROTC.
Medical clearance is a recommended safeguard, but is not a guarantee against adverse outcomes, serious conditions, or future health problems. To learn more, please visit the AAP’s Interim Guidance on Returning to Sports and Physical Activity.
If you have additional questions, please contact your child’s primary care doctor.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Burton
