Market Beef and Dairy Steers ID Deadline: February 18, 2025
See the Market Beef Identification Letter for steps that must be followed to identify your market beef animals in 4-H Online by February 18, 2025.
Office Closure - President's Day
The Nobles County Government Center is closed on Monday, February 17 in observance of Presidents Day. This means the office will be closed and staff will be working from home. If you need anything, please reach out via email.
Fundraiser Delivery Day
Fundraiser delivery day is Saturday, March 22 starting at 7:30 AM at the Worthington Christian Church (1501 Douglas Ave, Worthington, MN 56187). All product must be picked up by 9:00 AM. Help is needed to organize and sort the product from each vendor. Sign-up to help on delivery day!
New Vision Co-op Calf Application
Nobles County 4-H and New Vision Co-op are excited to offer the co-op calf program again in 2025! All youth are invited to participate in this educational beef project. The application and payment is due March 7 to the Extension Office.
Ear Tags: Now Available
Ear tags for the 2025 animal ID season are now available at the Extension Office. New this year, tags are available at no cost to Nobles County 4-H members. All market beef IDs must be in 4-H Online by February 18, 2025. All other IDs are due on May 15, 2025. All distributed tags must be accounted for in 4-H Online and tags that do not show up in 4-H Online must be returned to the Extension office. To order tags ahead of time for pick up, please complete the order form.

All species requirements have been updated for 2025, refer to the 4-H Animal ID webpage..
March CloverBuds
Grand Prairie Rockets will host the March Cloverbud event on March 10 at 6:00 pm in the Farmers Rooms at the Nobles County Government Center. The theme is Clovers & Cookies! Cloverbuds are invited to join the Grand Prairie Rockets 4-H club meeting following the event. Registration is now open in 4-HOnline. Cloverbuds is for all youth in grades K-2.
4-H Ag Ed Leaders in the Classroom
Are you in 7th grade or above and have a passion for agriculture and a desire to make a difference in your community? If so, we invite you to join our 4-H Ag Ed Leader in the Classroom program and become a youth teacher, sharing your enthusiasm for agriculture with elementary age youth. You must attend 4 one-hour virtual training sessions on March 20, 27, April 3 and 10 from 7-8 p.m. and teach in three classrooms between April and May. Tasty Tuesdays
From tasty side dishes to delicious mains and sweet desserts, our young chefs are excited to share their mouth watering recipes with you. Join them in the kitchen as they stir the creativity into their favorite dish!
Zoom on Tuesdays from 5:45pm-6:45pm on the following dates: February 25; March 18, 25; April 1 and 8. We will be cooking from the comfort of our own kitchens. This program is for youth in grades K-13 and is free! Register through 4-H Online. Go to the side bar and find "events" then go to the right hand corner and click register for a new event. You will need to scroll down to find it - then click the box.
4-H Horse Pleasure Clinic: June 19 - 20 at the Murray County Fairgrounds
Youth are welcome to attend the 4-H Horse Pleasure clinic hosted by clinician, Kathy Johnson. Topics covered include: showmanship, horsemanship, western pleasure, ranch riding, ranch pleasure, trail, English equitation, and English pleasure. Stalling will be available, please bring your own shavings and clean your stall once your time at the clinic has been completed. The clinic will run from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. both days with lunch provided in the afternoon.
The total cost for the camp will be $175 for both days. Camping options are available! Each spot is $25/ day for the duration of the clinic. Money will need to be collected before leaving the fairgrounds.

Spring 2025 - Young Alumni Volunteer Gathering
Minnesota 4-H is hosting a springtime Young Alumni Volunteer night on Friday, April 4th, from 6 - 8 PM at the Picklebarn in Mankato! It’s a totally FREE night of pickleball, good food, and time to network & reconnect with others. Plus, there’ll be free headshots (perfect for LinkedIn or just because) and an opportunity to learn how you can continue to support the next generation of 4-H’ers as a volunteer. Save the Date: Camp at Lake Shetek
Games, crafts, friends and more are found at summer camp! All youth in grades 3-6 (completed in May 2025) are invited to 4-H Camp at Lake Shetek in June 2025. No prior 4-H experience is required for 4-H summer camp.
Let’s Talk About Disability
Let’s Talk About Disability is a five-session series designed to provide a safe place for youth in grades 6-12 to have important conversations about disability. This series demonstrates to youth with disabilities that they are valued and welcomed by 4-H and gives all youth the tools to be supportive and effective allies.
