Highlights of the week
Mr Lisseman - Headteacher
Dear Parents,
Another fantastic week at Twickenham School, filled with inspiration, hard work and community spirit.
As we move towards the final stretch of this half term, planning for next year is already well underway. Exciting developments include major improvements to the Drama Studio and we are looking at the potential creation of an outdoor seating area and pod to support our growing student population.
A particular highlight this week was welcoming the Student Leadership Team to our Senior Leadership Team meeting, where they proposed some very thoughtful solutions to improve the dining experience for all students. Their suggestion to introduce Upper School (Years 9, 10, and 11) and Lower School (Years 7 and 8) sittings will be implemented from next week to ease lunchtime flow. Their professionalism, confidence, and engagement were truly impressive.
This week also saw House Assemblies for Curie, Farah, and Mandela, bringing students together to celebrate achievements, reinforce our values, and build team spirit ahead of upcoming house events. In addition, we launched our Work Experience Scheme for Year 10, providing students with valuable real-world experience to support their future aspirations.
A huge well done to all our students who have represented the school in sports fixtures and to our sports leaders led our local primary school events this week—your dedication, sportsmanship and leadership continue to make us proud. A quick reminder that free porridge is available every morning from Cucina—a great way to start the day with a healthy breakfast.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend

Year 9 Sports Leaders: Excellence in Leadership and Inclusivity
Ms Goodwin - Head of Year 9
Our Year 9 sports leaders recently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by organising and delivering a highly successful basketball tournament for local primary schools, followed by an inclusive sports session for students with various disabilities from the local area. These events not only showcased their ability to lead but also highlighted their commitment to fostering participation and inclusivity in sport.
In the basketball tournament, the leaders showcased organisation by managing the event schedule and roles effectively, ensuring a seamless experience for participants. Their communication skills were evident as they provided clear instructions, motivated players, and adapted their style to suit the younger audience.
During the inclusive session, the leaders displayed inclusivity by tailoring activities to meet the diverse needs of participants, creating an environment where everyone felt supported.
These skills not only made the events enjoyable and impactful but also underscored the leaders' growth as role models who inspire others through sport.
