ACP Corner
Dear Lake Denoon Families,
Welcome back! As the new school year begins, we want to emphasize the importance of Academic and Career Planning (ACP) for your student’s educational journey and future success. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Lake Denoon have a monthly class time for ACP exploration called the Timberwolf Pathfinders. Their first meeting is Friday, October 4. Below is basic information about ACP and how you can help support your child’s learning:
What is Academic and Career Planning (ACP)? ACP is a comprehensive process that assists students in developing plans for their future.
Why is ACP important? We want all students to graduate from Muskego High School with a plan for their future. ACP helps students explore their educational and career interests through lessons on self-awareness, goal-setting, and gaining essential skills. The lessons support students making informed decisions about coursework, extracurricular activities, and their future, all while discovering and learning more about themselves and their career interests.
ACP at Lake Denoon Middle School - Lake Denoon is committed to providing a robust ACP experience for our students. Our monthly lesson topics have been prepared through Wisconsin DPI. ACP advisors will present monthly lessons and offer guidance, resources, and support throughout the ACP process.
Family Involvement - Lake Denoon will be using the online Xello platform for ACP lessons. An invitation will be sent to parents/guardians for accessing your student’s Xello information that they will be working on each month.
Below are additional links to help you get acquainted with Xello:

Spring ACP Conferences- This year, our spring conferences will be focused on your student’s learning in their ACP class. Students will lead the conference, sharing with their parent/guardian about what they’ve learned about themselves during ACP and present the portfolios they’ve created. Stay tuned for more information!
If you have any questions or need further assistance regarding ACP, please don't hesitate to reach out to your student’s ACP Timberwolf Pathfinders Teacher and your child’s school counselor. We are here to help your child succeed.
Thank you for your continued support in shaping our students' futures.
Helping Parents Register for Xello

Knowing that talents and interests support career decision making, ask your student the following questions: “What do you enjoy doing?” “What do you do well?” “What are some of your interests, talents, goals, and career aspirations?” “What do you want to be when you finish your education?”
