CIS Weekly Updates

This week will end with a lot of fun on Friday. I will be getting taped to the wall! We also have a town hall meeting in the afternoon, and students can purchase items at our Grizzly Spirit Gear Sales during lunch. Please see below for more information.

We still need a lunch and recess aide from 11:00-1:00 each day. If interested, then please apply online. We appreciate anyone interested in this opportunity to be with our students daily!

One last time, I'd like to thank our families for supporting the Read A Thon. This year’s event was our best Read A Thon ever, and it is because of you! Students who participated in the Read A Thon must pick out prizes over the next ten days. Please see below for more information.

This past week we had conferences on Wednesday. This week, we have conferences on Thursday. Thank you to our families who are able to attend. We appreciate being able to meet with families to discuss your student's progress!

Students who participated in the Read A Thon, need to make sure to spend their RAT Bucks by Wednesday, October 9th, 2024. Any RAT Bucks not spent by Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 will no longer be available. The prize store cannot be reopened once it is closed. All prizes will be shipped to the school.

The Wadsworth Public Library is partner with the Wadsworth City School District to provide a monthly book club for fifth and sixth graders.

Participating students will meet monthly with a member of the Library’s Children’s, Youth and Outreach Services department to discuss the title selected. The Library staff will reserve the book discussion titles using the library card number that you provide. Books will be delivered to the students at school and books can be returned the day the club meets for discussion.

• Please be aware that the discussion books will be reserved and checked out onto the card number you provide by Library staff.

• Cardholders are responsible for any fees associated with any damaged or lost books.

• If your child is not able to attend a meeting, please return their book discussion book to their school or to Wadsworth Public Library as soon as possible.

• Books will be selected by Library staff and will vary in degrees of difficulty.

• Library staff will renew items not returned at the meeting one time, but please contact the Library if you think you have lost the book, already returned it or have any other questions about the Library materials. You can contact the Library at 330.334.5761 or by email at childrens@wadsworthlibrary.com.

You can help! Throughout the year we collect food items listed below and send bags home over the weekend for students in need. Please consider helping in this way because our students and families really appreciate the extra food over the weekends.

Our attendance clerk, Mrs. Long, is the contact person for calling off your student and any change of dismissal plans throughout the day. Please call the Attendance Line to reach her and leave a message. The phone number to her desk is 330-335-1481. We recommend you let the attendance desk/teacher know when your student will be absent, leaving early, or arriving late. Letting us know when your child will leave early allows us to be prepared for when you arrive. We ask that all end-of-the-day dismissal plans be made by 2:45 p.m. Thank you for your efforts!
