IAMacomb Update
August 29, 2024
Great start to the year!
It has been a wonderful start to the 2024-2025 school year. Teachers have been spending time getting to know students as well as diving right into the IB curriculum.
We honor and acknowledge the effort that students make to be students at the IAM. This is especially true when they return to school during the three weeks in August. Students have made a decision to prioritize their studies and their plans for the future. We recognize that commitment!
IB Diploma Progamme
Middle Years Programme - Personal Project
According to IBO.org the Personal Project is defined as, "MYP students in their final year explore an area of personal interest over an extended period. It provides them the opportunity to consolidate their learning and develop important skills they’ll need in both further education and life beyond the classroom. It also helps them develop confidence to become principled, lifelong learners."
Transportation Information
Transportation begins for all students who submitted a request form on September 3rd! You must have submitted a bus form to have been placed on a route. Chippewa Valley Schools Transportation Department coordinates the transportation for our students.

9th Grade & Link Crew Collaborative Field Trip to Oakland University Tree Runner
On August 28th, Ms. Robinson and Mr. Lambdin coordinated a field trip to the Oakland University Tree Runner Adventure Park. Half of the 9th grade students and Link Crew leaders had a great experience working in teams, taking risks and conquering fears! Upon return, the Link Crew led a meaningful activity where students reflected on what they learned. They also had the opportunity to spend additional time bonding with their Link Crew teams and leaders. Thank you to chaperones Ms. Robinson, Mr. Lambdin, Ms. Maes, Mr. Garcia, Frau Nagle, Mr. Jones and Mr. Pete.
Due to the weather this week, Tree Runner rescheduled the other half of the 9th grade students to attend the field trip on September 4th.
Movie Night Success-Thank you, Parent Community Club!
We want to extend a thank you to the PCC for all the group does for the IAM Community. They recently provided snacks and coffee for the staff! Last week the group sponsored a movie night under the stars, it was a well-attended event!
