Ionia County Career Center Updates
As we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year, the Ionia County Career Center is proud to reflect on a year filled with accomplishments and memorable moments. Highlights include our PB&J Fundraiser for IM Kids 3rd Meal, the exciting Change Wars, a wonderful Awards Ceremony, an energetic Field Day, numerous students earning certifications in their chosen courses, educational field trips, the addition of a new tractor, and more! Thank you to all our students, staff, and supporters for making this year a success. Have a great summer!
Bring Your Kid to Work Day
The Ionia County Career Center had a fantastic time celebrating Bring Your Kid to Work Day on April 29th! It was a great opportunity for our staff to share their work environment with their children and for the kids to see firsthand what their parents do each day. Everyone enjoyed the experience, and it was a wonderful day of learning and fun for all involved!
AEDF Recognized High School
The AED Foundation focuses on professional education and workforce development within the industry, including AED Accreditation of diesel-equipment technology college programs. In May 2024, the Ionia County Career Center proudly became an AEDF recognized high school!
Skills USA Competition - Diesel Technology
Brandon Richmond, Technology Director for Belding Area Schools, joined our Computer Programming class on May 8th! Our students had a fantastic time learning how to create new Ethernet wire connections.
Culinary Wedding Catering
Four of our Culinary Arts students catered their first wedding on Sunday, May 5th! They prepared the main course, a charcuterie board for appetizers, and the cake table.

CTE Showcase - Culinary
Our Culinary Arts program had a fantastic time on April 25th at the CTE Showcase at the Lansing Capitol! Three of our second-year Culinary Arts students, along with Mrs. Brooks and Mr. Paton, represented us and did an outstanding job!
2023-2024 Awards Ceremony
We were honored to host our annual Awards Ceremony on May 7th, 2024. The students pictured received either a Program Award or a Scholarship. A Program Award, which is a plaque, is given to one student per program per section. Students are nominated by their instructors as the individuals who represent the highest accomplishment in all areas identified through the Ionia County Career Center Paid Points. This year, we were proud to distribute $7,500 in scholarships to our students!
All about Mr. Ignasiak
Mr. Andrew Ignasiak is our Diesel Technology instructor. Mr. Ignasiak enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, target shooting, welding, hobby farming, and hanging out with his husky Clyde. Mr. Ignasiak also has a passion for Naval history and spends every chance he gets to visit a retired warship and ship museum.
