Kindergarten Information Night!
Mark your calendars for February 6, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at Middle School North, located at 201 Hawthorn Parkway. This is a special evening for parents to gain insights and valuable information about preparing for kindergarten. Our presentations, available in both English and Spanish, will cover a range of essential topics including registration procedures, dual language program options, a glimpse into a day in the life of a kindergartner, opportunities to meet our dedicated principals, and much more. We look forward to welcoming you and embarking on this exciting educational journey together!
An opportunity to complete the required pre-registration form will be available at Kindergarten Information Night!

Embrace Bilingualism with BPAC
Join us for our upcoming BPAC event on January 22nd at DL/TL from 6-7 p.m. We're excited to welcome Amy Mosquera from Adelante Specialists, who will be presenting on "Raising a Bilingual Child." Sign Up for Sign Language: Winter 2024 ASL Classes at John Powers Center
Discover the world of American Sign Language (ASL) with the Winter 2024 session starting January 24th! Open to SEDOL family members, employees, member districts, and community members, these classes offer a unique opportunity to learn ASL. The 8-week course, priced at $50 per person, is free for SEDOL family members and runs on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 pm. Don't miss out, registration closes January 19th! Please mark your calendar for this year’s summer program dates!
Summer Program offerings include Hawthorn Music Camp, Hawthorn Enrichment Institute (HEI), Extended School Year (ESY), Summer Scholars, and Early Start Kindergarten. More information about program offerings and registration will be shared after winter break.
Summer School Dates: Monday, June 10 - Tuesday, July 9.
Session 1: June 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20 (HEI)
- Session 2: June 24, 25, 26, 27 & July 1, 2, 8, 9 (HEI and Music Camp)
No School: June 19, July 3, July 4, Fridays.
Hawthorn PTO: Mark Your Calendars
- $20 per student
- New this year: 2 time slots to separate younger from older students (pick 1 slot, if you have students in both slots, feel free to pick the 1 that works best for your students)
- K-4 grade: 7 - 8:30 p.m. with pizza from 8 - 8:30 p.m.
- 5-8 grade: 8 - 9:30 p.m. with pizza from 9 - 9:30 p.m.

- All day fundraiser, just mention D73 PTO fundraiser and 10% of your food and drink purchases will go back to the schools!

Stevenson's Exclusive Clinic for Middle Schoolers
Calling all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students who would like to try an exciting new sport! Stevenson's varsity lacrosse coaches are hosting a 2-day clinic just for you! The clinics are on 1/21 and 2/4, at the PWC turf to learn the basics, get hands-on training, and spark your passion for this exhilarating sport. Boys' session runs from 4-5 p.m., followed by girls from 5-6 p.m. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to start your lacrosse journey!
