DCSD Legacy Campus

Happy spring! We want to take some time before we break for summer to say THANK YOU to everyone who has made this first year at the DCSD Legacy Campus a tremendous success! We could not have provided these opportunities for our students without the support of our community: our students, their parents, our industry partners, our advisory board members, our DCSD Leadership, Board of Directors, and our community. Truly, this is a special place because so many have come together to do education differently and Connect Passion to Pathway. We just spent the last two evenings hosting Orientation for all of our new students. They are excited to order culinary uniforms, children's literature books, begin flying airplanes, and many other wonderful things that will take them on journeys well after high school graduation. Our post-secondary partners from ACC, MSU, and UCD were present to get students registered for their college credit, and students walked away with their class schedules for next year! We want to say "welcome" to all of our new families!

Ceremony season is also upon us as we prepare for our first Awards Night next week, where we will honor students who have earned industry certificates and other notable accomplishments. Our seniors only have a few days left in class ahead of graduation festivities and we celebrate all the work that you have done this year. It's because of YOU that we show up everyday to create meaningful learning and partnerships. Congratulations and good luck to all of our seniors!

And last but not least, next week is Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you to our dedicated staff who go above and beyond in all that they do!

Thank you to all of the families that signed up to bring items to stock the fridge and set up a coffee bar for our Staff Appreciation Week. We look forward to sharing them with the hard working Legacy Campus staff. Please drop off all donations at the DCSD Legacy Campus front desk by Friday, May 3rd.

Students receiving recognition at this year's award ceremony have been sent invitations by email as well as hand delivered by instructors. Please RSVP online HERE by May 1st, thank you.

All students attending Legacy Campus for the 24-25 school year will need to attend Check-in Day on August 8th. Please mark your calendars! Students will visit during their normally scheduled period time for their Legacy Campus class. Stations will be open from 8:30am-11:30am AND 12:00pm-3:00pm. Please note that there will not be transportation provided that day, so plan accordingly. Parents are welcome to attend with their student.

Anyone who will be needing transportation for the 24-25 school year from their home high school to and/or from Legacy Campus will need to register for the Noah Cares vans using this LINK.

The architecture students were able to take a unique trip to Colorado Springs to see inside the renovation project at the Air Force Academy Chapel on April 3rd and 4th. This was a rare opportunity and we want to make sure to share special thanks to Marty Rickett with JE Dunn for sharing the history of the project. Tara Burke, also with JE Dunn who gave her architectural perspective as a design manager/coordinator. Tom Kapels with AECOM who gave students the architectural perspective as designer and firm owner. Jeff Young with AFCEC, Air Force Civil Engineering Center shared his architectural perspective as a project manager. The students had great tour guides from JE Dunn as they were shown around by Brett Granier & Robert Zanzig. Thank you to everyone who made this visit possible for our students!

We appreciate the continued support of our Aviation Pathway from Centennial Airport Foundation. We recently received a donation of $2,500. Thank you to Mike Fronapfel and the foundation for your generous contribution to our Aviation Pathway!
