Eagles Exclamation

Greetings From Prairie View Middle School
Dear PV Eagle Families:
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable spring break! As we return to school and wrap up the third quarter, I encourage all students to stay focused and finish the year strong. Thank you to all the families who filled out our 5Essentials Survey. When we receive the results from this survey in the fall we will use the feedback to help us improve our school.
State testing will begin next week, and it’s important that all students are well-prepared. Please see the schedule listed below. The last day of 3rd quarter is April 4th and Report Cards will post on April 11th. No assignments will be accepted after the 3:00 PM deadline on April 7th. There will be no exceptions to this deadline.
For our 8th-grade students, this final stretch marks the end of their elementary school journey. Many exciting events are planned to celebrate this milestone. To participate in these activities, students must have passing grades, turn in their work on time, maintain a positive attendance record, and make up the work missed when they were absent. Students should show respect and cooperation toward all Prairie View staff and students.
Let’s make these last months of the school year meaningful and successful. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your continued support.
Best regards,
Maura R. Baskovich
Principal

Illinois Assessment of Readiness
All Prairie View students will be taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness starting April 8th.
The Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) is the state assessment and accountability measure for Illinois students enrolled in a public school district. IAR assesses the Illinois Learning Standards incorporating the Common Core and will be administered in English language arts and mathematics to all students in 6th-8th grades.
The results of these tests are very important to us. The data is used to help improve our instructional practices. It is also one of the factors that is used in determining our state rankings. We want to see our students demonstrate their knowledge and perform well on these tests.
Please make sure that your student(s) get a good nights sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days. They also need to have a fully charged iPad for testing.
Below is our testing schedule. Please note that lunch times are different than our regular bell schedule.
We appreciate your partnership to help all students perform their best.
