Dear Families,
I think we’re still adjusting to daylight savings time, but the warmth and sun the last few days have been relaxing. The children are definitely done with winter garb! Thursday, 3.14, was Pi Day and Barbara made a special lunch featuring circles. Earlier in the week she also posted information in the Common Room about the Iditarod and visited K/1 to share more information about it. Next week 4/5 students will start helping with lunch service.
When you come in for conferences, please take time to look at the student work displayed in the hallways. There is a recent installation of K/1 solstice drawings that is particularly arresting.
Next week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week. We will be doing reading and activities over the week about neurodiversity to increase awareness. SEPAC is hosting a Neurodiversity Celebration Night at the Marquis Theater Cafe in Middlebury, Wednesday, March 20, 5:30-7:30.
If you haven’t yet scheduled a conference with your child’s teacher, please do so. We value the opportunity to meet with you.
Lunch volunteers - We need coverage next week for Monday and Wednesday. Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org if you can help with lunch prep and service, 11:00-12:00 in March and April. Even one day helps. Those of you who have volunteered before, can go into the google doc and sign up. Thank you!
Best, Christina

Neurodiversity Celebration Week: March 18-22!
Next week, our schools will be celebrating neurodiversity in our community. Neurodiversity refers to the biological fact that everyone has a uniquely wired brain and their own way of thinking, learning, and experiencing the world. Learn more at https://www.neurodiversityweek.com/introduction! School leaders will share more about upcoming Neurodiversity Celebration Week events at your school. SEPAC also invites you to connect with them through the SEPAC website and join them for two upcoming events:

A preschool interest survey is available here. Families should complete the interest survey before the end of the month to be considered for a preschool opening. The preschool program has classrooms at Mary Hogan and Bridport schools.
Free Weybridge Elementary School T-shirt for all Students
Every student at WES will receive a free school t-shirt courtesy of FOWE. Please complete this quick form by Sunday, March 3 so we know what size to order for your child.
If one t-shirt isn't enough you can purchase additional gear including adult sizes, hoodies, and long-sleeve tees separately at this link: WES Gear Shop.
Screenagers 2: Next Chapter
You are invited to a free viewing of "Screenagers Next Chapter: Addressing Mental Health in the Digital Age" by filmmaker and physician Delaney Rushton on March 19th at 6:30pm in the auditorium at MUHS. There will be a discussion following the viewing with local counselors and health care practitioners.
If you have any questions, you can contact Julie Altemose (jaltemose@acsdvt.org) or Samantha Farrell-Schmitt (sfarrellschmitt@acsdvt.org).
Ilsley Library Challenge
Ilsley Public Library is challenging the youth in our ACSD community to read 15 titles from the various local and state youth book award lists (Red Clover, Golden Dome, Midd Reads, and Green Mountain) between January 1st and March 31st. Tracking sheets will be sent home today. Youth who read 15 books will earn a ticket to a special movie showing at the Marquis Theater in April! (Weybridge will make sure everyone who qualifies has transportation to the event.)
