A Note From The Principal
The Energy Bus Rolls On
Dear Heritage Families,
As we enter the month of November, I’d like to take a moment to express my gratitude for the continued support, hard work, and dedication from our students, staff, and families. This is a time of reflection, and I’m proud of how much we’ve accomplished so far this year. Our school community continues to hop on the energy bus with each passing month, and I’m excited for what the rest of the year holds.
November is a month for giving thanks, and I am grateful for the positive energy that fills our classrooms. It’s inspiring to see our students dive into their studies with enthusiasm, and our teachers are continually finding new ways to engage and challenge them. I encourage all of us to take a moment during this season to reflect on what we are thankful for, and to appreciate the hard work, kindness, and resilience that we see around us every day..
Important Dates to Remember:
November 11th: No school in observance of Veterans Day
November 28nd - 29th: Thanksgiving Break
November 22nd - Term Ends
Please also remember to follow us on Facebook and X for updates, reminders, and highlights of school activities. We have many exciting events coming up in December, and I look forward to sharing them with you soon.
Thank you once again for all that you do to support our students and our school. Wishing you and your family a peaceful and joyful Thanksgiving!
Mr. Olson
Congratulations to DCEF Grant Recipients
Heritage School is so grateful to have received two grants from our Dudley Charlton Education Foundation. We received a grant to purchase a book vending machine which will be used in a positive behavioral intervention program where students will earn tokens to “buy” books. We also earned a grant with CES through our library to work more with STEM. The program is called Coding with KaiBots. We are very excited to see these two programs roll out through the school year. Thank you to our education foundation for their support. Please make sure you find a way to support this organization as they are extremely supportive of all the schools in the Dudley Charlton system. Click Mr. Olson's picture to learn more about the DCEF.
Say Hello To PAWS Our New Mascot!
Dear Heritage Families,
We have some very exciting news!!! Recently we went through an election process and the students were able to cast their vote for our new Heritage School Mascot. There were four bear-themed options from which to choose. These four choices were suggested by our staff.
In the end the winner, by a tight margin, was Heritage School PAWS. You will slowly begin to see evidence of our new mascot throughout the building and communications.
Paws is an acronym for:
“Paws” itive attitude
Accepting of others
Well-mannered
Show respect for yourself & others

Please Send Your Child To School With A Water Bottle
Please send your child to school with a bottle of water or a reusable water bottle. It does not need to be filled at home. You can avoid spills by packing an empty one. Many parents do not know that we no longer have water fountains or "bubblers". We have several water filling statins in the school that provide filtered purified water but we do not provide cups for the water stations. Thank you

The Ghoul In The School
Thank you to Mrs. Brothers and Mrs. Sexton for a fun October activity called the Ghoul in the school. The "Ghoul" is a vampire named Ichabod and he was hiding all over the school waiting to be found by Heritage students. Ichabod also asked students to bring in non perishable food items for a food drive.
