Tiger Update
Information/Updates about Pickerington High School Central
Message from Mr. Lanier
As you know I enjoy a good Simon Sinek video from time to time and I found this one to share with you this week. In it he talks about the importance of focusing on the path instead of the obstacles. Invariably, you will be drawn toward the thing on which you are focused. When we work with our students it is so important to get them to focus on the path to success rather than the obstacles that make success difficult. If we fixate on the obstacles that is ALL we will be able to see. If we fixate on the success path THEN SUCCESS is inevitable!! It takes hard work and dedication but success is always possible when we work together and make it happen!! SO, once the interim grades are posted let's sit down with our students and talk about the factors that will lead to success.
Let's have a great week of learning.
Tiger Up,
Mr. Lanier

Sophomores
These last 2 weeks, current Sophomores have visited the Eastland-Fairfield Career Center to visit some of the programs it offers. Eastland Fairfield Career Center offers over 35 career and technical programs designed to prepare you for college and the workforce. These programs provide college-preparatory academics, opportunities to earn free college credit, hands-on experience, and industry credentials to give you a head start on your future.
If your student did not get to attend the visit, the career center is offering an Open House on December 5th, from 6-8pm. Even if your student did attend the visit, this is a great opportunity for family and friends to find out more about the Eastland Fairfield Career Center Programs.

Job Shadowing Opportunities! What is job shadowing? Job shadowing is a learning experience where you observe a worker in their workplace to gain insights into a specific job role. It can help you understand the tasks, responsibilities, and skills associated with a job, and get a realistic view of the workplace environment. Here are some things you can do during a job shadowing experience:
Observe how the professional uses software or technology
Attend meetings with the professional
Assist with minor tasks
Tour the office
Review work materials
Ask the professional questions about their job
Learn how the professional communicates with their peers or clients
The following companies have job shadowing programs:
Nationwide Children's Hospital
TP Mechanical -Construction Jobs
Atlas Butler- HVAC and Plumbing
Accurate- HVAC and Plumbing
If you are interested in shadowing at one of these locations, email Mrs. Brunner
If you are interested in shadowing a different career, let Mrs. Brunner know and she can research opportunities for you.
