News for Marcellus Middle School students and families

Things to know . . .
- MSTEP Testing is complete except for a few make-up assessments.
- Homework hour is at the Middle School, Monday through Thursday, from 3 to 4 p.m. It is available to all students, and they do not need to sign up in advance.
- The last day for Homework hour is Wednesday, May 22.
- The 6th grade orientation for incoming 6th grade students and parents will be held on May 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- May 14 at 7:00 pm is the final band concert of the year at Marcellus High School.
- May 21 from 6:30-7:30 will be a Pizza with Parents evening. Please come and enjoy some pizza and conversation about our middle school, and provide suggestions for the continued improvement of our academics and school culture.
- The Marcellus Middle School Farewell Dance is May 30 from 6 pm to 8 pm. We will need parent volunteers to chaperone the dance and provide snacks for the students. The dance is semi-formal (no sweatpants, jeans, etc.). Please call the middle school office if you would like to volunteer or have questions about our final party of the year. The admission price for the dance is $10.00. No concessions exist, so students will not need additional money for the dance.
- Saturday School is May 31 from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Families will be notified on May 30 if their student needs to attend. Saturday School is available to all students.
- There is no school on May 26 for Memorial Day.
- The 7th and 8th grade students will attend a STEM fair and a Kalamazoo Growlers game on May 28.
- The middle school will hold a Scholastic Book Fair from May 30 through June 6, during which students can purchase books to read during the summer.
- June 2 - 5 is 6th Grade Camp for our 6th graders at Bair Lake Bible Camp. Please call the office if you have questions about camp.
- The Marcellus Middle School Awards Ceremony will be June 4 at 6:30 p.m.
- June 6 is the last day of school. It is a half day.

6th Grade Camp
Students will attend 6th Grade Camp June 2 - 5. They will have breakfast at school and then travel to camp on a school bus. They will have lunch and activities at camp with Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Creager, and Mrs. Swihart.
