Hickory Creek Middle School

We want to thank each of our families for your support throughout the 2024-2025 School Year. It has been a pleasure watching your students grow and excel. There is so much to be proud of this year and the future looks very bright for middle school scholars!

Academic Goal:

• We will continue to provide rigor and opportunity for academic growth to all students in grades 6th- 8th.

Social/Emotional Goal:

• We will support staff and student social and emotional needs and enhance the opportunity for growth in relationships with one another.

Communication Goal:

• We will increase opportunities for family engagement both during the school day and through extra-curricular activities.

Safety Goal:

• We will provide a safe learning environment for staff and students in our learning community.

June 3rd - 8th Grade Trip to Great America

June 4th- 8th Grade Graduation Practice in the AM and 8th Grade Field Day in the PM

June 5th- 8th Grade Graduation Practice in the AM and 8th Grade Yearbooks in the PM -Eighth Graders last day of school.

June 5th - 8th Grade Graduation at Lincoln Way West - 7:00 P.M.

June 7th- 6th Grade Field Trip to Navy Pier and Architectural Boat Tour. Yearbooks distributed to 6th and 7th Graders.

June 10th- 7th Grade Field Trip to Springfield - depart at 5:45 A.M.

June 11th- Last day of school for 6th and 7th Graders. Field day for 6th and 7th Grade. Dismissal at 10:45 A.M.

Hickory Creek Office Hours in the Summer: 7:30 A.M. -3:00 P.M. Monday- Thursday.

• 8th Grade Graduating Students will receive their End of Year Report Cards and Honor Roll Certificates on June 5th. These will be given in paper form for the end of the year.
• 6th and 7th Grade Students will receive their End of Year Report Cards and Honor Roll Certificates on June 11th. These will be given in paper form for the end of they year.

Mrs. Dotson will be sending a mid-June email to all families with information about the following:

• Ordering PE Uniforms for 2024-2025
• Getting Physicals
• Try Out and Sign-Up Dates for Fall Extra-Curriculars

Families will also receive a "Back to School" email in early August with details on getting the year started and student schedules.

Congratulations to our Chorus kids and families on an incredible year! The Chelsea 4th & 5th Grade Chorus put on a wonderful concert, and Hickory Creek's Willy Wonka was dazzling! The Hickory Creek Chorus is capping off the year with performances at Music in the Parks and a day at Great America.

Calling all chorus parents- If your student enjoyed their action-packed year of chorus activities, please come to our Chorus Boosters Planning Meeting on June 3rd at 6:30pm in the PLC room at Hickory Creek. With many 8th grade parents moving on to high school we will be seeking volunteers for multiple open board positions.
