Welcome to FLL Explore!
August 2, 2023
Dear Robobcats Families,
I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to both you and your children for another exciting year of Robotics Season at Sonoran Foothills School. I trust that your kids are enjoying their experiences in the 3rd-grade class. It is always a delight to see them occasionally and reassure them that our upcoming gatherings are just around the corner.
In this new academic year, our students will be engaged with the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential set and corresponding software from LEGO® Education. To ensure optimal participation, I have arranged for an additional kit, guaranteeing that each kit accommodates two students.
I eagerly anticipate the return of all our students and the enriching experiences that lie ahead :)
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cawley
Season Theme: Lights, Camera, STEAM!

Unveiling the FIRST LEGO League challenge, titled MASTERPIECES, this season invites children to embark on a journey exploring the interplay between science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) within the realm of the arts. As young visionaries, participants will conceive and pioneer novel methods to craft and convey artistry, fostering connections that span the entire globe.

TAX CREDIT DONATIONS FOR ROBOTICS
We are so appreciative of the Tax Credit Donations that we receive. Tax Credits help us to fund special activities, after-school events, and clubs such as band, robotics, NJHS, team sports, and field trips.
Deer Valley Unified School District offers an online account service that allows Arizona taxpayers to make a Public School Tax Credit donation using a Discover, Visa, or MasterCard. Sign-up is quick, easy, and secure. You can donate online at this website. Tax credit forms are also available at the school and district offices.
Tax Credit Facts
- Anyone with or without children, married or single, is eligible for this unprecedented state tax credit.
- The $400 maximum state tax credit is available for taxpayers who are married and filing jointly.
- A husband and wife who file separate returns for a taxable year in which they could have filed a joint return may each claim only $200.
- For a single individual or a head of household, the tax credit is $200. A state tax credit will allow you to reduce the amount of your tax liability to the state or increase your refund from the state.
- If you donate the maximum of $400, your Arizona tax bill would be $400 less or your refund would be $400 more.
- You may donate less than $400 and be eligible to receive the state tax credit in the amount of your donation.
- The amount you donate (up to $400) will be the amount you may claim as a state tax credit.
- You may split your $400 donation among more than one public school, but will still qualify for a maximum state credit of $400.
- Your donation also reduces your taxable income to the federal government, thereby reducing your tax burden to the federal government usually by 1/3 of the donation amount.
We rely heavily on grants and donations to continue with the Robotics program at SF. Thank you so much for your support.
