Message from the Principal
I want to remind everyone about our attendance procedures, especially regarding extended vacations:
If your family is planning a vacation or extended leave that will last more than five (5) school days, please contact me directly to make arrangements. It’s important that we are informed of these absences, as they impact your child’s instruction and our school’s attendance records.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us support your child’s learning and maintain accurate attendance documentation. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to discuss your plans.
Thank you for your partnership!

Hopkins Public Schools: 2025 Minnesota Student Survey for Grades 5, 8, 9, and 11
Hopkins Public Schools is inviting students in grades 5, 8, 9, and 11 to participate in the 2025 Minnesota Student Survey (MSS), conducted every three years to gather insights into young people’s lives. In 2022, 70% of Minnesota school districts participated.
This anonymous and voluntary survey is hosted by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and covers topics such as school experiences, future plans, health, relationships, substance use, and more, with high school students answering additional questions about sexual behavior.
Participation helps schools and communities create better programs and services. Parents have the right to review the survey or opt their child out.
The survey will be administered at buildings between February 10–March 14. You can learn more or opt your child out at this link.

Headphone Help!
Dear Eisenhower Families,
We hope this message finds you well! As we continue to enhance our students' learning experiences, we find that headphones are an essential tool for many of our classroom activities.
Unfortunately, some students’ headphones have broken, and others do not have a pair to bring to school. Many families are able to send headphones with their child, while some may not be able to do so.
For those who can, donating an extra pair would be a wonderful way to support our school community and ensure all students are set up for success.
If you’re able to help, here are some affordable options you can consider:
Thank you for your continued support and for being such an integral part of the Eisenhower community. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
2025-26 kindergarten registration is now open!
Open-enrolled families (families who live outside the Hopkins School District): if you have a fall 2025 kindergartner, you will need to complete an Open Enrollment Application for your child by January 15, 2025.
Hopkins School District resident families: please submit a K-12 Student Enrollment form for your fall 2025 kindergartner — even if you are already attending Hopkins Preschool.

District-wide Parent and Caregiver Group for Supporting Gender Expansive Kids
Are you the caregiver of a child who transcends traditional binary gender roles? We are offering a supportive, ongoing group for parents and caregivers to ask questions, share ideas, and support one another. Some children may identify as transgender, gender fluid, non-binary, gender queer, gender expansive, or simply move through the world in a much more gender free type of way. Our first meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 26 from 5-6:30 p.m. at North Middle School, Room 506. This is for parents and families from all of Hopkins schools -- and from all grade levels (elementary, middle, and high school, and beyond). Laura Jensen, Hopkins Schools LGBTQ+ Community Liaison will facilitate the meetings. This is not a group to debate the issue, rather for parents looking to support their child. Questions?
