Notes from Nurse G
It's that time of year when colds and allergies begin bothering students. They may awake not feeling well, and it’s hard to decide if they are well enough to go to school. To help you answer that question, please visit my page on New Hope’s website to find a section titled “Is your child too sick for school?” A link to the page is also located here.
If your child has a health condition, new or old, that may require additional support while he/she is at school please make sure all necessary healthcare action plans have been completed and submitted to me. You will find all required forms, on the school nurse page of the New Hope website or here. Please have these filled out completely and returned to me as soon as possible to ensure your child receives the continuity of care that he/she deserves.
If your student will require medication to be kept at school, a Request for Administration of Medication form (1 for each medication) must also be completed. If your child has a condition that does not fall into a specific form please use the Individual Health Care Plan. In addition, please note most forms require both a physician’s signature and the parent/guardian’s.
Please be aware that only parents/guardians may bring medication to school. Students are not permitted to carry medication to or from school.
