As the holiday season and winter break approaches, I encourage everyone to take time to celebrate, relax, and recharge with family and friends.
Thank you for your continued support and for being an integral part of our amazing Homestead community. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Wishing you all a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!

ASD WELLNESS INITIATIVE
Dear Parent,
This is a second reminder to turn in your completed paperwork or sign up online to participate in the ASD Wellness Initiative study. ASD has partnered with the University of Alaska in a study looking at longer lunch periods, longer recesses, and more movement breaks throughout the day. Our school will participate in a portion of the study that will look at the amount of food eaten by students who eat a hot lunch on December 9th and 11th. If you and your child agree to participate, your child can get up to $100 for being in this study. More details about how to participate in this study can be found at this link:
Information will also be sent home with your child. Thank you for considering helping us learn more about ASD’s Wellness Initiative!

SAEBRS
This year our teachers will be completing a universal social-emotional behavior screener (SAEBRS). Important information we want to share in partnership with all families.
This screener will take place 3 times a year (Fall, Winter, Spring).
Teachers will be conducting the screening for their students on December 5th.
The teacher rating will be completed outside of class time and will not disrupt learning.
This screener will help our teachers strengthen classroom structures and the school meet students’ social, emotional and behavioral needs.
Please check in with Mrs. Stone if you have further questions or would like more information.
