A Message from Roundtown Principal, Dr. Miller
Happy Friday, Roundtown Families & Friends!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing holiday season!
It was a very short and sweet transition back to school this week with just a couple days under our belt. I really think coming back for these two days was healthy for the kids as I know a full week for them right away would have been difficult.
The school recommitted itself to hopes and dreams and setting new goals. Teachers did an exceptional job providing a soft landing back into school and we look forward to the second half of learning this school year.
Have a wonderful weekend! While I loved every single moment of hosting mom and dad for the holidays, I am happy to have my downtime once again. Looking forward to more football as we round the bend to the playoffs.
Regards,
Dr. Miller

SCHOOL UPDATES
This past week....
It was a short plunge back into our school routine on Thursday and Friday. The children enjoyed sharing their stories about the holiday and all of their adventures. It was so great to be back in action with the kids!
Coming next week…
Our school will be getting back into mid-year assessments with our second "sweeps" of the year. All students in the next couple weeks will participate in some mid-year assessing to gauge progress up to this point.
Thursday is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Roundtown is so thankful for our men and women of Northern Regional who visit at least daily to check in on us. I salute all of our first responders and thank you to our law enforcement for ALL they do each and EVERY day! Thank you for keeping us safe!
CENTRAL YORK DIVERSITY CELEBRATION
The CYSD Diversity Celebration is being held on February 12 from 6:00-8:00 at the HS. This event is a chance to highlight the unique experiences, perspectives, and cultures within our community. The event will feature school and community tables to explore, a selection of international treats to enjoy, and a special presentation beginning at 7:15 PM, where students and staff will have the opportunity to share "their story" through a variety of formats, including performances and spoken word.
This year, the Diversity Celebration Committee is seeking more involvement from students and staff in the K-6 buildings to participate in the celebration by sharing their stories, artwork, and other talents in the celebration of diversity and inclusion. Students and staff can write a story about their specific culture, family traditions, journey to Central, their native language, and learning English as a second language. Participants can read their own stories or choose someone else to read. In addition, students and staff can present their culture-related artwork, songs, and/or dances at the celebration.
