Building Connections with the 2x10 Strategy
Our behaviorist team is promoting the 2x10 Teacher and Parent Strategy—a simple yet effective method to foster positive relationships with behaviorally challenged children. This approach involves spending two minutes per day for 10 days engaging with the child, focusing on their positive qualities rather than discipline. Based on research by Raymond Wlodkowski, this technique helps develop empathy and strengthens connections, making a meaningful difference in a child's behavior and well-being.
Welcome Victor Ortiz, Resource Specialist
Hello everyone! My name is Victor Ortiz, a first-year RSP teacher at North Davis Elementary. I graduated from UC Davis roughly 10 years ago and just recently moved back to the area. I enjoy the small-town vibes that Davis gives off, it is definitely different from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Other than teaching, I also enjoy running, biking, and all things nerdy from video games to board games. It has been great working at DJUSD so far, the support has been extremely helpful and much appreciated!
